Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades.
Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves two purposes:
It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States thus minimizing consequent support, and it is intended to discourage American citizens.
---- Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site.

AMEN Brother.
It is amazing how America contributes the most to developing countries through the World Bank and the IMF. We contribute more to humanitarian aid everywhere in the world more than any other country on this planet. For what ever reason people make their mind up that we are in Iraq for we are ding good. Saddam and his regime was very bad and practicing genocide and needed to be removed.
America leads in attempting to spread freedom around the globe with little aid from other countries. And of course we are made the bad for doing so. We are the only country in history that has come from a conflict and always rebuilt the country to better than it was after we left. No other country had done this. Ever.
Also there are over 150 wars going on around the world and the one the US is involved in is the only one being focused on. Yet we have begun providing those people with the ability to live free lives and not fear death because of their ethnicity or that they disagree with their dictator or religious leaders. I can see how we in the US can be contrued as such horrible people and this is such a bad place to live.
Finally what amazes me is people who have lived in a country where they are free and can say what they think (many of which never have been outside the city they live in), and have not lived in a different country and seen first hand how blessed they are to live free in America. And exactly why there is a need to help others have that same freedoms we enjoy here in the US.

The US Army has compared what we're doing in Iraq to the "Marshall Plan", the rebuilding of Europe.
We're actually giving Iraqi's infrastructure and education that they've never had before, and all modern quality. They could actually be the most advanced nation in the region when we're finished, outside the UAD, Qatar and Bahrain.
But that wouldn't be very hard to do. Literacy rates in Muslim countries, medical care and discrimination are pretty sad.

definite. Bush knew while he became beating the conflict drum that Iraq did not own the weapons that have been being claimed. certainly, because of the fact the available intelligence did not help Bush, the workplace of particular Plans became created to cherry-p.c.. intel, and cobble at the same time a case for conflict based upon the cherry-picked intel. The cherry-picked intel became what became provided to Congress.

Oh, its all available on the department of defense website?? Then it MUST be true. Just like it must be true that World Trade Center 1, 2, and 7 were coincidentally the only buildings in history to ever collapse from "fire damage", and not only that, but at freefall speed and with windows being blown out 20 stories below where the collapse was happening.

If the facts weren't disputed by the BBC, the ONLY news source that I would trust after 9/11 happened and I realized what all was out there that we were NOT being told by our government controlled American media, I won't trust any government run websites, especially not the DOD.

couldnt agree with you more. the problem is the pelosi/reid regieme found a way to insulate themselves from the reality of what tax and spend does by masking it in a placebo solution for iraq. most people as aptly demonstrated here, dont have the faintest understanding of al qaeda or jihad and have been clouded by the liberral extremists to assume that it wont affect them as its...over there. as a survivor of wtc in manhattan it sickens me that the pelosi ites would use this as an excuse to further their agenda and not elimitate the problem of al qaeda as promised.

Very good post. With all this going on, why would people want our soldiers to leave now? I wish we could see this on the front page of the NY Times, or the Washington Post, or LA Times.
