I'm from the USA so I'm not sure about this....I heard somewhere that the queen is the commander in chief of the british armed forces......what would happen if she would tell the army to invade a country but blair would tell them to stop?....who would the army listen to?.... is the queen's authority over the army ceremonial or can she actually issue orders?...thanks for your answers

How do you apply for a TA waiver? I have exceeded my 16 semester hours allowed for this fiscal year. The Navy College Office gave me some guidance, but I am still confused. Anyone out there know?

I want to join the Marines as a Machine Gunner (0351). Im in pretty good shape and can shoot pretty good too; but thats w/ a 12 gauge, not some 240G or .50 Cal. I recently got engaged to a girl Ive been w/ for a long time, a really long time for a high school relationship. Ive always wanted to join the Corps since back in middle school, didnt really know what I wanted to do til later on but still.

Looking for people w/ experience or 2nd hand knowledge here please...

-How long are Marine deployments w/ the Wars in the Middle East going on?
-How hard does it effect a marraige, especially newlyweds?
-Will it be hard for her to go to college if Im always having to move stations ever 2 years or so?
-And would joining the Coast Guard be better for family life versus the Marines? I would much rather be in the Corps, but if itll help my life, and hers, that much then yeah.
-----
If you havnt noticed, Im an upperclassmen in high school just trying to get a couple ?s answered. Thanks

I believe if we could see through the eyes of the troops what's going on over there in Iraq, we would be better able to raise our voices to the gov and presid candidates, and be informed, knowledgeable citizens. To this end, if the troops were permitted to give their views of experience on Iraq online on Yahoo, it would help us at home to stay informed and be knowledgeable about what is going on and the deicsions that need to be made. How else can we vote intelligently if we are not given information? Being a stupid unknowing, uninformed public is not helping. We need information - from people up front! Doesn't everyone agree with me? We have been kept in the dark and covered over. We the people want to be a part of the decisions of our own nation, not just learn about them in the morning newspaper.

I want to see if anyone thinks this is a true story.

I read a Clancy book on the army that told a interesting story back in 1991 in Iraq. But several people i have talked to said this had to be fiction.

A U.S. M1A1 tank i think was part of a convoy when it got stuck in some wet sand. It was unable to get unstuck and by security procedures it had to be destroyed and not fall into enemy hands (the technology).

The engineers are called to start the process and the crew gets ready to leave their tank.

3 Iraq tanks show up and take up positions behind and around sand dunes and not in direct line of site of the tank.

Each fires at least 1 shot and all bounce off the reactive armor plating, none penetrating.

the M1 takes out 2 some way, and the third it uses infra red to see it throuhg a sand dune and fires through it and destroys the Iraq tank.

Finally the engineers (and another tank) show up and attempt to remove the tank with chains and whatever.

They can not,

This ridiculous republican mantra of "support the troops" is so damaging to the dialogue of the war.

Cutting funding for the war means Halliburton and the military-industrial complex won't make as many billions as they did last year. Troops have nothing to do with this.

I don't really get what the DIA does. Is it government or military? Who do they report to? What would be a DIA person's (officer? agent?) job description if assigned to South or Central America, for example.
