Sorry man, but it is just something you will have to learn to deal with. I know it will be hard at first, but believe me it will get to the point of where you won't even care anymore. Everyone else will be going in front of you, and sooner or later you will have to go so bad it will just start falling out of you. I know it seems unfair but that is part of the military, just walk it out! Good luck!

In Marine Corps boot camp, the recruits had something like 45 seconds, to all get through the shower... an entire platoon of 80 guys. That means, you run through the water, soap up quick, rinse off and go... all in a line. Everybody does everything together, as a platoon or squad. Nobody's taking a leisurely shower. Ever.
The pace of boot camp, at least USMC boot camp, is so intense, there is NOTHING on your mind except doing what you're told in a way that won't bring you to the attention of your DI team. This issue that seems like such a big thing for your right now? It will be one of those fears you face and conquer very quickly.
Besides... you're too tired to really care about the shower thing... life in boot camp has a way of sorting through those issues and giving you new perspective!

You have no choice but do to those things in front of others. When you go to basic training you have no privacy, if you don't want to shower in front of others be prepared to either have the others give you a shower because you stink so bad, or have the drill sergeants deal with you in another way.
The bathroom stalls sometimes don't have any doors on them so you will just have to get used to it. Everybody showers at the same time and after showers, everbody changes at the exact same time, and everyone changes in the same room, walking out of that room half or improperly dressed will catch you and most likely your whole platoon a punishment from the drill sergeants. Then you will get it later on from the rest of the platoon who don't enjoy showering and then rolling around in mud or sweating after a nice long PT session.
Plus your whole military career will be spent in situations where you have little or no privacy, such as field exercises and deployments to Iraq. Only when you are in garrison will you be afforded some amount of privacy. If you need privacy that bad I would suggest not joining the Army.

Don't join the Marines then, there aren't any doors on the stalls.
If you can't put up with showering in front of people you will fail. There is such a thing as "failure to adapt" that can get you kicked out of boot camp. No one is going look at your privates, that is the last of their worries in boot camp.

Hmmm let me recall my first night at basic training. I got there about 2am after inprocessing. The first thing they scream at you to do is get your dirty little selves into the shower. Then after that wonderful group shower.... (Fastest shower of my life.) You get throw into bed just so you can wake up 2 hours later for PT. This is not an option it will NEVER be an option. You will get over it I promise. In fact it will be the least of your worries at the time. Thankfully the Air Force has stalls for the bathrooms. My husband who was in the Marine Corps had no privacy at all. Suck it up and move on.

You'll bathe or get to be the guest of honor at a GI party. That's where the guys get you down and use soap and GI brushes and scrub the heck out of you. Look - the guys taking showers together have just a few minutes to bathe and take care of other hygiene needs. They are not interested in looking at your family jewels. You will pee or defacate eventually...it will just be more embarrasing if you do it in your pants or bed.

If you dont shower voluntarily your platoon will forcefully clean you. I have seen it done, my husband saw it when he went through, and he is now a Drill and hears it every cycle.
As for the using the bathroom- either you adapt and go or wind up in the hospital which is more embarassing?? Peeing in a bathroom or getting a catheter????

My first day in basic the drill sergeant dipped his coffee cup into the latrine and then drank the water. Honest. There are no doors and sometimes no walls to the commodes. There are no shower stalls either. Maybe you should reconcider your career as a soldier.

If you don't shower in boot camp, plan on being invited to a SHOWER PARTY. You would rather take a shower on your own. Time to grow up, son.

Don't join the military. In boot camp thier isn't not time to shower by your self. If you are going to join you are going to have to get over it.
