They took about 1 oz of shrapnel out of his body. His whole left side is scarred up from all the wounds. I went to visit him in Germany while he was recovering. He was a handsome boy, most of my friends wanted to go out with him. Now I'm not so sure.
Now he's scary looking. Worse than that, he's back in combat and at risk for more injuries or even death. Is that fair? We come from a lower middle class family in a red state. All these people around me say they support our troops, yet other than his immediate family, not one of these people ever send him an e-mail or letter, even though several asked for his address. He'd like some recognition for his sacrifices. He also thinks he's given enough... he says "it's somebody else's turn" but so few are willing to step up, yet they don't want him to get home.

He is marrying a 17 year old and she is due with his child May 27th. Will this have an effect on when they ship him out or will they ship him reguardless of his childs birth date? The mother will turn 18 in the first part of June. Please, Army personel that have some experience in the matter answer this one. Thank you in advance for your answers and to those serving, THANK YOU! (If it helps, his MOS is 13delta, whatever that means.)

I once put some in a jar,
for a time of darkness.
it was gone after sunset.
I arose next morn in the dark,
and awaited one hour for its return.

I am not going to explain it, and if you can't google it and understrand, oh well! Just want to know if anyone understands the implications and why Congress cannot today change Iraq or any other foreign policy.

My husband is in the Army Reserves, and chose the SLR program for his college loans. He has since graduated, has filled out the paperwork needed for the Army, and they have not gotten back with him about it. Is there anything else he needs to do to take care of it? It's showing up on his credit account as unpaid and overdue, so the Army hasn't paid it yet (surprise surprise)... How long does it usually take for them to do it, and is there anything else he can do to maybe speed things along? He's asked his UA numerous times, and he told him that's all he had to do, but that was over 4 months ago.
Thanks!

As his mom I am scared... my son seems so quite and gentle I know he's trying to find his own identity and independence. I guess I just want to know how others of you out there have faired in the army. Especially recently. He's only completing his first year of college. Will this set him back in terms of a career when his commitment is over?

Japan is murdering Humpback whales. Humpback whales are magnificent creatures. Why do we allow the Japanese scumballs to murder humpback whales? Japan is a rotten country that deserved a lot more than two atomic bombs in 1945. My heroes are the brave crewmembers of the Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Japan. I also enjoy watching newreels of the atomic bomb survivors. These Japanese scumball cowards deserved to be fried by atomic bombs. Good luck to the Sea Shepard!!

I am still looking for a site where you can find veteran's/ buddies I was with while in the military. I have used military.com, veteran finders. I have googled and googled. I have yet to find a particular site. I am looking for a site that will allow one to put in particular dates and hopefully be able to find who was all in that time frame and "MAYBE" who was in a particular unit. None of the known sites have this option. I am wondering if there is something I am over looking. I have searched "ALL" of the obvious. Thanks in advance for you help.

I thought the US army were in Afghanistan to re-build/win hearts and minds/educate and help the stability? Why is it then when they drive through Kabul in their great big Hummers at 100km they are so aggressive? Is forcing civilians of the road at gun point really helping them? Every other nation working for ISAF are cautious, but are warm and friendly towards the local people.
