Military - March 2007

It seems to me that Bush was in too much of a hurry to drop bombs on Iraq in March of 2003. What was the big rush? A real hunter waits for the right moment to pull the trigger.

My friend has to leave America in 2 years to go the the military. He told me that his parents paid around $100,000 for him and another $100,000 for his brother to leave Singapore and if they do not return to go the military the government will keep it, but when they fulfill their time in the army they get that money back.

His parents want him to go to the military so they can get that money back, but I want him to stay. I was wondering if someone could tell me the exact figure of this collateral is, because I want to raise enough money so he can stay in America and not leave.

I am writing a midterm about war and I need to discuss the theories of explaining and analyzing war. I wanted to use the Cold War, but that wasn't really a war; just a conflict. Should I use it?

The new US commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus, said on Thursday reinforcements pouring into Baghdad have a long task ahead of them and warned there is no military solution to the conflict. Not at all he stated.

The general also said that Iraqi leaders would eventually have to sit down and talk with some of the violent factions tearing the country apart. We must talk with the Insurgents who have been killing our troops.

This most likely will end up like Vietnam. We will lose.

-- Every branch may deploy. I *never* thought I would have to worry about it, yet here I am. Even the most unlikely of career fields can be sent to Iraq. They don’t care what your job is. Trust me: I’m a Spanish Linguist.
-- Every branch has its pros and cons over the other so you can’t just ask “which one is the best”? That is an opinion and you are going to get a different answer/reasoning from everyone.
-- Not everyone in the military works nice cushy jobs. Most of us work long, hard hours with little appreciation (and no overtime!!) for what we do (especially nice when you are deployed and working 15 hours a day, 7 days a week!)
-- Not everyone in the Air Force flys planes! In fact, I would say its only a small percentage of our force that have anything whatsoever to do with aircraft.
-- Patriotism and honor are real things and I think every person stationed over here feels theml! I am proud of myself and my fellow Airmen, Soldiers, Marines, and Sailors.

The critics have given Clint Eastwood's new movie rave reviews. Is the movie that good? I have a hard time feeling sympathy for no good Japanese scumballs who should have all been killed anyway. I hope that there are good flame-thrower scenes in this movie. I heard that our guys burned a lot of the cowardly Nip scumballs as they tried to hide in the caves or bunkers. I'm sure that I would enjoy seeing the lousy Japanese scumball cowards get incinerated by flame-throwers. The truth of the Pacific War is that some of those Japanese scumball cowards did try to surrender but our guys shot them anyway. Who had any use for a Nip coward, anyway. Cheers!
