The new US commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus, said on Thursday reinforcements pouring into Baghdad have a long task ahead of them and warned there is no military solution to the conflict. Not at all he stated.

The general also said that Iraqi leaders would eventually have to sit down and talk with some of the violent factions tearing the country apart. We must talk with the Insurgents who have been killing our troops.

This most likely will end up like Vietnam. We will lose.

We have people in this country that want us to lose.
Most Democrats and all the Hippie-Anti- War people want us to lose.
If these Anti-War people have their way, our soldiers will have "died in vain", just like in Nam.
All Anti-War-People have something in common: they spit on our vets. Just like they did the Nam Vets.

Your may have given yourself the name, "Erudite", but you, sir, are not.

GEN Petraeus did NOT say what you are alleging. Here is the truth (and I even took it out of a liberal paper... which was unintentional.... but if THEY can report it this way it just proves how off the mark YOU are):

"Petraeus also said Thursday that military efforts need to be coupled with political reforms, including the absorption of what he termed "reconcilable" outlaw groups into society.

U.S. and Iraqi officials are "trying to determine over time who are the irreconcilables and who are the reconcilables," Petraeus said. "What the government is trying to do, what those supporting the government are trying to do, are to split the irreconcilables from the reconcilables and to make the reconcilables part of the solution rather than a continuing part of a problem, and then dealing with the irreconcilables differently." "

Statepol, basically a pleased reminder than the President and chief government of the rustic is "the" Commander-in-chief of each and every of the army. He can defy the techniques of every physique under him. And that incorporates the Secretary of protection and each and all the generals. Obama isn't the President yet. yet he's able to exercising his authority whilst the time comes.

A realist? He said no such thing about the Vietnam nonsense. He is stating facts and covering his ***. Nothing can be solved through military alone. Open your eyes and stop looking for reasons to not like the war and dishearten Americans about the aspects of the war in Iraq. He is stating common sense.

You are obviously fixated on Vietnam and it's time to move out of the past and face the issues of today. Solutions will not come from military efforts alone and anyone who believes otherwise is not facing reality.

"This most likely will end up like Vietnam. We will lose"

I have searched the web for this quote, I cannot find it anywhere. I would be very willing to try to answer this question if you could prove Petraeus actually said that.

Considering so many of your past posts on this board, how much of this post did you, yourself add in to it? I know you're lied a lot in many (if not all) of your past questions but I just want to know how much you'll lie in the future and on this post.

Report me if you like but enough people will see it and know I tell the truth.

He must have forgotten to pack his rose colored glasses when he shipped out.

Cheney and Bush wont be happy that he isn't using them.
