-- Every branch may deploy. I *never* thought I would have to worry about it, yet here I am. Even the most unlikely of career fields can be sent to Iraq. They don’t care what your job is. Trust me: I’m a Spanish Linguist.
-- Every branch has its pros and cons over the other so you can’t just ask “which one is the best”? That is an opinion and you are going to get a different answer/reasoning from everyone.
-- Not everyone in the military works nice cushy jobs. Most of us work long, hard hours with little appreciation (and no overtime!!) for what we do (especially nice when you are deployed and working 15 hours a day, 7 days a week!)
-- Not everyone in the Air Force flys planes! In fact, I would say its only a small percentage of our force that have anything whatsoever to do with aircraft.
-- Patriotism and honor are real things and I think every person stationed over here feels theml! I am proud of myself and my fellow Airmen, Soldiers, Marines, and Sailors.

-- YOU are typing opinions about things you know little-to-nothing about while safe at home. WE are over here fighting for your freedom, protecting your rights to be there and be safe, even though most of you seem to think that what we’re doing is in vain… nice message to send the troops that you “support” by the way.
-- Your beloved news… it shows what they want you to see. I hate to break it to you people but there is a lot more going on over here than you will EVER KNOW OR UNDERSTAND. Don’t trust everything you see/read.

OK, sorry this was not a question, but the things people have been saying/asking have been driving me mad!

Proud to be USAF in Baghdad, Iraq!

Just because a few loud mouths sound off, do not worry. They are the ones getting all the press becuse the media is not interested in anything but bad news. After all how many times did you turn on a TV and hear a reporter say something good happened. Its just like Car Crashes..... everybody wants to see them.

Remember this...even though we don't know your names, you are in the hearts, the minds, and the prayers of more people you can imagine. Bless you and your family who is an equally partner in the defense of freedom everywhere.

Someday you can say, "I fought for freedom.....", "What did you do?"

You can't appease everyone. It is hard to understand if you have never served. I just let it be. People are entitled to their opinion. In my over 20 years of service as both military and civilian, I saw all kinds. Even the conscienctious objector, or so they said while serving.

Most of the miitary personnel are duty and honor bound. They understand the mission and what has to be done. It is their nature to do what others will or can not.

Thank you for your service. Keep the faith that the American people are behind you (both "liberal" and "conservative" - don't you just hate tags!)

Take care over there and return home safe and soon!

I wish every nitwit that supports the troops and not the war (liberals at home whining) would read what you said. I have been posting here, that there is so much good stuff going on that never gets reported.
I'm sharing some that Good Stuff, below

If they only knew....I'm certain their attitudes would change.

Don't let them get your down..it's the minority.
God Bless and keep you all safe.
We are Proud of you and the great job you are doing.

I completely support the armed forces. My cousin is in the Air Force and I plan on going into the Navy after college. I also think that the U.S. is right in being over in the Middle East. Just letting you know that some people care and support you guys.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone in the military to write a post like this. (Especially the the bit about the "which branch is best")

You forgot to mention how you sleep at night being in the military killing "innocent civilians".

(My husband sleeps on his back, and quite soundly. You?)

-- A grateful army wife who knows she doesn't have it in her to deploy to Iraq like you. Thanks, and come home safe.

Why let things bother you? Just ignore it and go about your life. This single post isn't going to change anything about the way people post here.

My husband is in Iraq and has almost been injured or killed a few times and he hasn't even once complained like this! He just ignores the ignorant! And it works! Nothing bothers him.

On another note, he is on his way home for R&R and the wait is killing me. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe me....MOST of us are very proud of you and all your comrades in arms. Don't pay any attention to the small minority of leftist, America bashing Liberals that want to tear down America
