I have been giving it serious thought. You don't have to speak French or be a citizen of France. You can enlist under a false name as long as you don't have any unresolved criminal charges against you.
I'm just looking to get away from it all. I've served overseas in the US military for the past 6 years and loved it and am looking to be on my own for good.
I'm tired of the normal routine now.
The biggest thing for me is having to go to France to apply. If I were to not get accepted (I can't see any reason for this happening but I don't really have any idea about their exact requirements) then I would have to pay my own fair and spend a lot of money just to get rejected.
Does anybody know the height, weight, physical, mental, or aptitude requirements?

Aren't US troops suppose to be killing terrorists in Iraq not bringing them to US military hospitals in Iraq where many of the US troops, the wounded terrorists JUST SHOT, lay in pain & agony? Who does Bush care more about: US troops or the enemy?

No one seems to have any idea what happend to it!

Did the insergents take posession of it ?
Is that why they seem so well funded and unstoppable?

Did it go to Osama Bin Laden ?
Or other Terrorists in Hiding?

Was it accidently delivered next door to Iran?

I just read the book Jarhead, and i was wondering has your experience been like this, i mean thats terrible stuff and also my other question is
My other impression of the Marine Corps especially (i dont know why) is that they come out and turn out homeless or with a terrible job...is this a large majority? am i generalizing?
I know the USMC is not for cry babies but reflecting on what happened and whats going on in the world got me thinkin about the things i enjoy that no one else has, i truly thank you, your a stronger person than myself for joining up.

Are we cowards or fools ,when a terrorist like Mohd Afzal is caught then people among us take out processions to save that terror mind from his death penalty. What about those persons who lost lost their brave sons and daughters who died fighting empty handed with the heavily armed terrorists ,to save the parliament.
This is what happened when one of our plane IC 814 was hijacked and taken to kandahar , our country men instead of showing support to govt. they came out with large posters saying to release the terrorists and save their relatives. So what this means , there is no honour for the soldiers who died while capturing that terrorists.Are we just "living corpses" or " some pale men in petticoats". WHAT A SHAME

Those pictures depicting the US military as bad people, I think the photographers name was Furst. Several soldiers were interviewed, and it was discovered that it is not at all like that over there. Isn't that terrible that these people would shine the bad light upon our military like that just to satisfy their agenda?

I need a website showing that there is a cap on the number of people that can enter the Coast Guard. I believe it should be 45,000 but I need hard evidence. Wikipedia is NOT a credible source.Thanks.

All I really know about the Coast Guard (sadly) is from the movie, The Guardian and from touring a base once in college. I want to support this man I love but I don't want to ask insensitive questions. What should be a rule of thumb for 'out of bounds' questions? How can I best learn about the CG as I have no basis for Military life? Thanks

In a Democracy should not the military be Democratic?

Should military personnel (soldiers, sailors, etc) be thoroughly informed of the complete details of a proposed war so that an individual, inteligent decision can made, then allowed to vote to participate in the fight? If the majority votes in favor,THAT majority goes to the war, instead .of the participation being arbitrarily dictated by those who would send them and not participate.

i think the war in iraq is completely pointless now.we first sent troops there to find weapons of mass destruction, but they weren't there. then, troops were told to capture sadum husain, and they did. now all they are doing is dying for iraq's own civil war. why don't they leave iraq? we finished the mission, and people are dying for no reason. who agrees with me?
(i'm only 14 so, my fcts might not be exactly perfect)
