The americans have killed quite a few allied soldiers in so called "Friendly fire" attacks. Do they just get bored and gun happy?

We could train and equip units with the most modern firearms and tactical weapons systems on earth or in space for that matter and then let Corporations or nations who needed defending from outside sources pay us to protect them.
Having a truly international force would help our inteligence services and in actuality we could probably pay less retirement out of US taxpayers pockets by privatizing their pension and Social Security needs.
Of course we would still need domestic protection so a more militarized civilian force for protecting borders and city streets would form a Praetorian Guard to protect our politcal needs and be paid for out of local buisness taxes.

Remember the security forces are being paid out of money given to private contractors and it is estimated thee are some 35,000 private security forces in Iraq alone with some 7-8000 in Afghanistan.
As another point of interest, american military men and women are protecting private contractor projects who have private security forces.

The AK 47 was buit after WWII made cheaply sent everywhere but to those who say it killed more than any other weapon it in truth lags far behind the use of the M-16 variants and all of US manufacture.
Whenever it has been used against forces with HK or Colt derivatives of the original m-15 , the FN models of combat weaponry it has been a death knell for the holders of AK's.

I've read on Yahoo that the french military has a "foreign legion".
Did anyone ever heard about this ?
Who are they ? Are they really efficient, though being french ?
Can they be compared with our own soldiers, with the SEALs or something like that ?

The Bush administration sent 363 TONS of cash into IRAQ. What excuses will the Republicans use to justify this one and what controls were there on the money? In a time where military does not even have the proper equipment and body armor to fight, is this not a stupid move for the Bush adminstration to make. Who in their right mind would do this? http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/02/06/iraq.cash.reut/index.html

My civilian AME was telling me that some pilot applicants can get around this hurdle if they lobby their local congressperson. (I'm not sure if he was just being a little senile, but he's a former Air Force flight surgeon himself, so I guess he should know).

If I have to write a thousand letters, I'll do it. I'm not gonna settle for a career as a navigator, no way.

My PCSM score is very high, so this is really the only thing that's holding me back.

Hey, it worked for George W. Bush, didn't it? (he got a pilot slot in the Air National Guard despite scoring the minimum passing score on his pilot aptitude test).

I suppose all rules are meant to be broken...

Is that really true or do the french lie once more ?

It seems that there is very little integrity in keeping secret, details of soldiers or units involved in friendly fire.

Please see this link http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070208/wl_uk_afp/iraqbritainusmilitarylegalpolitics_070208121723;_ylt=Aj441EyROEwsiEdc7LhX8Y0UewgF

Should the airman who made the mistake attend the coronial inquest?
Should the airman apologise?
Should the US government keep this stuff secret?
Is this the way to behave towards allies?
