Lived in Hohenfels for a year and moved 4months ago to Heidelberg.
Enjoy your time there, go to places (Nuremberg, Munich, Prague, Rottenberg etc) and do not get too frustrated over some ignorant people there.
I met most of my friends at the gym...its a good place to start and get the benifits of working out.

Well I don't know any people in Hohenfels but I am a military brat and have a little advice for you. Try the quality of life program on post. You will find plenty of activities to participate in with other families. If you are working you will also meet more people and just give your husbands position a chance. I'm sure he will run across someone he knew in boot camp or something and that will eventually open the doors to meeting new people.

that's purely getting interior the way of your marriage because you're allowing it to. definite it should be efficient to be in the route of kin yet that is not a possibility. i do not trust that you probably did not comprehend what you've been getting your self into. If there is one element you comprehend for a actuality once you marry a defense force guy is that maximum probably you're not in any respect going to be in anyplace lengthy sufficient to placed down roots and that those places are not in any respect going to be round your fatherland. you want to inform your husband the way you're feeling. See if he's open to doing a b-billet like recruiting in or close to the position you're from so that you'll be able to spend a even as with kin. Plus the better he strikes up the extra money you'll have for travelling to work out kin. the base line is it really is time to dollar up and make a call. that is extra significant? Your marriage and your son having a mom and pa round? Or going abode? And in case you come to a call to face by technique of him and the occupation he's chosen then I propose making an appointment with the chaplain and entering into marriage counseling.

I am not in hohenfels, but I am in Illesheim. I'm also a military spouse and 21 years old. I would definitely hang out with you, but we are a little far apart. You should go to your FRG meetings and meet the other women in your troop. I'm sure you'll find someone close to your age. If not, I hang out with a lot of wives that are much older than me. Military wives have to move to different stations so many times that most of the women you are around should be easy to make friends with because of the constant move.
If this doesn't work, ask your husband to invite a couple over that he works with for games one Friday night. I make most of my friends over here from throwing a lot of parties.

First off, it is ROTHENBURG, not Rottenburg...this I say, so you will find it on the map.

Secondly, since you have young kids, have you placed them in CDC yet? If so, ask there if they know of any other young mothers like you...check the ACS Office. They may be of some assistance as well. Get involved in taking German Language Classes through the ACS....
