Because the terrorist organization is basically a government without a country. Iraq is ripe for taking over for them to set up a base to become more powerful. After they gain a base, what do you think will happen next? They are actively seeking ways to develope chemical and biological weapons to use against, guess who, the US. So, pulling out our soldiers would only create a larger opening for these terrorists.
Sending more in to continue to reach our goals will prevent this, at least until the Iraqi government can take care of itself.
Also, when our soldiers clear an area or city, the bad guys come out of the wood work after we roll out. More soldiers would enable the area to remain clear and secure while we move to other areas that need our help.
The more soldiers that are there, the faster this can be taken care of, and that's all the sooner they can all come home. That's the way I see it.

Maliki will be happy hes begging for more troops since his own people arent willing to step up and be citizens.
More budget expenditures for war means additional profit for companies that have military contracts.
It will further embarrass and humuliate the Hawks and help to completely prove they do indeed have a civil war over there.
More moms can make busy with more care packages.
Man I cant come up with a real reason why this will stabilize Iraq why dont you read what they are planning to do with the troops basically its a rolling wave of clearing out weapons caches etc. The Iranians/syrians will just send them more. You cant stabilize the country without securing the borders. It will slow the violence as intended and then a few months later it will increase again!!
