no, mercenaries don't go to war following the most powerful man on the planet, they go for money and money alone.

We do now have US mercenaries hired by the Bush administration working in Iraq.
They are from the Blackwater Security Consulting firm located in Noth Carolina.
There are about 15-20,000 and they are being paid between $10-20,000 a month each.

No, however there are civilian contractors providing security to some that you could call mercenaries. Ex spec. forces and other people who provide security to the press and politicians. The rules of engagement are not the same for military as it is for these civilian contractors. Our troops can't fire unless fired on. The guys apparently can fire if they deem a threat is there.

In Afghanistan, many of the troops there are NATO troops, are you including them as well? Or, is your intent to demean the US and it's military?

Australia, Poland, Great Britain, Japan, all have troops in Iraq. Are you including them in your question? Or are you just targeting the US? Clarify your question by using both sides of your brain to formulate your question, as it is, you leave a lot of people out of the equation!

Nope! They are just brave men and women protecting and doing their job as best as they can. They are still someone's son or daughter, mom or dad, brother or sister,...you get the idea, right? I pray everyday for each one of them to stay safe and for these terrible wars to cease as soon as possible for all sides involved.
