Aren't US troops suppose to be killing terrorists in Iraq not bringing them to US military hospitals in Iraq where many of the US troops, the wounded terrorists JUST SHOT, lay in pain & agony? Who does Bush care more about: US troops or the enemy?

The US military isn't fighting another countries army in a conventional war. They are fighting a bunch of terrorists/criminals in street clothes who have no rights under the Geneva convention (just ask Bush if you don't believe me).

What a sadistic man you are. You get less enemies when you show a helping hand. Plus there is the Geneva Convention. What would you do if, hypothetically, your armed forces we wiped out and your country was being invaded? Would you continue to fight even though you are not a soldier? Would other citizens also fight from house to, blow up your foe's trucks on the street etc. You would be a terrorist and an insurgent.

US military personnel are bound by the Geneva Conventions and the Laws of Armed Conflict.
Short and Simple
The military is sent to do a job against a target, and to minimize the loss of life. It is not a military mission to kill people. It is a militay mission to destroy objects that promote the welfare and communication of people, and to capture people. So when someone is hurt and they can be given medical care to save a life a US military person is under obligation to help. Although our enemies do not recognize this the US tries not to come off as a bunch of savage beast with no compassion for human life.

The Geneva conventions has been around LOOOOONG before Bush. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the President.

Prisoners of war suffering from serious disease, or whose condition necessitates special treatment, a surgical operation or hospital care, must be admitted to any military or civilian medical unit where such treatment can be given, even if their repatriation is contemplated in the near future. Special facilities shall be afforded for the care to be given to the disabled, in particular to the blind, and for their rehabilitation, pending repatriation.

Prisoners of war shall have the attention, preferably, of medical personnel of the Power on which they depend and, if possible, of their nationality.

The most obvious answer would be the possible intelligence opportunity, or the fact that you might know the guy from other theatres or incidents. Alternatively, you could call it 'hearts and minds'- don't call me soft but the guy might just have been given $20 dollars because he's not from Baghdad and there's no work, and given the opportunity might help to develop the still fledgling Iraqi nation.

Those were our beloved troops, not theirs ! It is our responsibility to keep alive the sacrifice, the courage, and the commitment made by our fine young men and women ! To the Iraqi people and I'm sure, Maliki's propaganda machine, these are occupation troops leaving their cities and towns. They believe they have the right to cheer. They don't see the sacrifice as we do, considering that for every one of ours, one hundred of theirs died too ! The disrespect is aimed at our government, our troops are all they have to relay that message to.

Its simple, we follow the Geneva Convention and things like the law of land warfare. We minimize damage and care for those who are wounded, enemies and our own. We don't do it for the cameras, and we dont do it to make people hate us less, we do it because we follow the law of war, much, much more than i can say for the insurgents who sing and dance around the bodies of us and other soldiers as they rip them apart and drag their bodies through the streets. If you have never been there, you have no idea, dont generalize or assume, it makes you look stupid. Its not like i enjoy helping out the people who just tried to kill me when one of my friends is hurt, but we do it because its right. Some of you will never understand.

You have to think first. What if the media show you that US soldiers ignore the wounded and tell you stories about it like why, how, what has happened. People will says that our solders are evil and our government is like terrorists. That is why, US soldiers have to do something like this to for their own sake!

Actually , it is only for the media. And some healthy prisoners will look good in abu gharib ... type prisons. Another reason is that the US always likes to make trouble first and then TRY to solve it second. Iraq , Vietnam .. being examples.

Rules of Engagement is a double edged sword. While we fight and help those that are injured, the enemy knows this and uses it against us. Of course, you rarely hear this mentioned anywhere because its easier to believe we just go over there to kill the innocent masses. Thanks for your observation.

Edit: Jaco-Spoken like someone who has never served or sacrificed.
