Military - February 2007

My daughter is a first year cadet in Air Force Junior Rotc ( she's a freshman in highschool) . Today was promotion day and she became a staff sergeant and personnel commander. I have no idea what this means but she seems very excited about this. Can someone give me a crash course in ROTC stuff?

I am just curious what current and former veterans of the US armed forces think about our actions in Iraq. Do you agree with our reasons for being over there? Or do you think we are meddling in places where we aren't wanted? I'm not even saying what I believe. I am just curious how some of our military men and women feel.

Look around, we have North Korea who has told us straight up the have nukes. We have Iran who says they are working on energy not nukes, we have Iraq....no WMD found....but we are at war, we have the big one RUSSIA who has confirmed they will be building up their army and navy over the next few years (nukes included).and what about China.....We need to go back to Allies 101 and make sure we know who are friends are or we are going to be in big trouble SOON. What is your opinion on this or am I the only one who see's it?

I mean, come on, really...Velcro on a uniform that you wear into situations where making even the smallest noise can give away your position and get you killed? What was the guy who designed this new uniform thinking, and what was the guy who bought it thinking as well?

Out of all the boat stations, river tenders, and air stations (etc)... which has been your favorite, and why?
Im in Mississippi and H-A-T-E it here.. so Im determined to do more research and have more information for when we transfer out of here. I know I dont have hardly any control (dream sheet aside) when it comes to where we go. But I feel like I need to try to do all I can so that Im not stuck in another place that I dislike immensely!!! Please tell me your opinion on the best place to go, and why!!!
