How long does it take for a soldier to get a mailing address for himself whenever he's been deployed? A friend of mine has just arrived in Iraq last week, and he says he still doesn't have an address.

As PC1 (Postal Clerk First Class) said... he got a mailing address when he got his ORDERS !! If he's a Marine, it's an FPO (Fleet Post Office) and if he's Army it's an APO (Army Post Office)

Oh PC1 ?? I'm still waiting on a care-package from my ex-wife from a 1997 cruise !! Where IS IT ???

Mailing addresses are made up before deployment. All he has to do is ask the military postal clerk what the address is. I was a military postal clerk for 20 years. I should know.

tell him to logonto some instant messenger, so you meet him instantly, message him in text, talk to him over voice chat, see his webcamera ... in this age of science and technology, you prefer snail mail ... omg.
