I have a friend who is having to write an essay on the wearing of a beret in a TMP and the role of the TC. If you know any AR or good information please help me.

The real answer is no. There really isn't a regulation in Garrison, it is usually the Garrison Commander's order. Usually in a policy letter. In the field or deployment it is based on the unit's SOP. A TMP is usually a civilian vehicle (non-tactical) so no headgrear is really required. The role of a TC (Truck Commander) is many. Keep the driver awake, look for obstacles, danger in the road, make sure the right judgement is being used, witness, and make sure they are going in the right direction (map reader). Just to name a few.

The real answer is that it depends on what you unit guidelines say. No it is not an Army wide requirement. Check with an NCO in you unit.
