Yes, friendly fire incidents are sad events and I wouldn't even imagine someone do that intentionally... the day that happens, the world id absolutely lost..
The thing here is: why don't the governments admit that something failed and assume responsibilities?? Why has the American government in the past declare that a certain incident with a British military column was in fact to grieve but there were no evidences that indeed had been friendly fire, and now we know that even a video, with perfectly audible conversations, exists and existed at the time??! Mistakes happen. They should be used to make better, not hide them and expect that everyone will be indifferent...

I do not believe these incidents to be "caused", but I no longer believe official declarations the American government or the army make to explain them. These and other situations.... like for example: till today, several helicopters of the American (and some of the British) army crashed, killing or severely injuring pilots and other soldiers... they always deny attacks as a cause of these crashes... am I the only one understanding here that, if these crashes are not caused by attacks, the government officially declares that dozens of American and British pilots are so incompetent that they crash helis almost every fortnight???

Why would anyone try and justify a friendly fire incident?

Accidents happen, they investigate to try and figure out how and why they happened, so they can try to prevent future friendly fire incidents.

There have been 2 friendly fire incidents involving American Forces and British Forces in Iraq.

One the patriot missile downing of a British Royal Air Force Tornado , where the investigation revealed a faulty IFF transponder in the Tornado.

The second being the American A-10 attack in 2003, whose video surfaced this week.

There have also been 2 friendly fire incidents involving British Forces and British Forces.

One involving the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment .

And one involving the Queen's Royal Lancers.

There have been no prosecution's in any of the friendly fire accidents.

that may not knowable. what number terror plots have been foiled simply by fact the conflict began? maximum of them we are in no way informed of, because it may reason a panic. what number cases have we killed a terrorist before he might desire to wreck somebody? we've a call; we are able to combat the conflict against terror surprisingly lots as we are actually, or we are able to stick our heads interior the sand and desire they are not getting into the rustic. Why have we not gotten Ben weighted down? in my opinion, i think of we did at Tora Bora, yet we've not got a physique so we don't be attentive to for particular. that's a rugged, mountainous section crammed with human beings sympathetic to his reason, consequently we've not only "long previous in and gotten him". Killing people who opt to kill us might make enemies, yet i think of it additionally makes those enemies comprehend that they can't attack us with out retribution. That grew to become right into a significant reason this concern with terrorism has festered considering that 1979. We consistently spoke back with diplomatic outrage and not a mailed fist to the jaw. nicely, we are utilising the mailed fist now. How could you negotiate with those human beings? they choose us ineffective, Israel destroyed, and the U. S. switched over to Islam and under shria regulation. they're keen to die and take as many human beings with them as they are able to to make that take place. they have not have been given any concern focused on civilians and childrens. what number civilian deaths would be needed in negotiations with them? What you look advocating isn't peace, it is the absence of conflict. they are actually not the comparable element. And at the same time as I agree that renewable potential is an answer, that's only component of the completed answer. We additionally might desire to end those human beings ineffective, actually. we'd desire to alter the Islamic fundimentalist/ One Islamic worldwide approach at its source interior the Muslim community. And and we'd desire to instruct states that harbor and help terrorists that they are going to be held responsible.

How on earth can you possibly think that friendly fire incidents are intentional. Do you think because one is a soldier that they have no compassion for humanity? Your question is not only uncalled for but ignorant! You should be ashamed of yourself.

No one tries to justify "friendly fire". Unfortunately, they are a fact of every war. If you haven't been in a fire fight or in a combat situation, you're speaking out of ignorance.

you're full of crap. you don't know what it's like to be out there putting your life on the line - so don't make assumptions.

sure the government covers things up and puts the "spin" on things so they don't look like a bunch of greedy a-holes, but if you don't like what's going on in government, run for office, get involved, call your representatives, lobby!!! - DO NOT blame the military folks. They are doing a difficult job under terrible circumstances.
