i think the war in iraq is completely pointless now.we first sent troops there to find weapons of mass destruction, but they weren't there. then, troops were told to capture sadum husain, and they did. now all they are doing is dying for iraq's own civil war. why don't they leave iraq? we finished the mission, and people are dying for no reason. who agrees with me?
(i'm only 14 so, my fcts might not be exactly perfect)

Depends on your point of view. The war in Iraq is not pointless although it may look like it at times, our troops being over there are giving their people a chance at a democracy. They may be slipping into a civil war if so its not un-common we had to fight one ourselves to figure things out. The US military leaving now would be a total disaster for the middle east it would drag Iran,Saudia Arabia and Syria into the fight. The French helped libirate us from the British so helping someone out isnt the worst thing in the world. Now if you asking me if we did the right thing, I still think its too early in the history of it to tell give it 10 or 20 years then we will be able to judge it better.

Young people, they don't remember or even know the lesson from VN war. We let communists raise back then, they pose threat on us now. Gulf War 1, if you let Bush Sr. wiped Iraq government out, we did not need to go there now and 9/11 can be prevented since terrorists were weak at that time. Now, if we let terrorist alone, what will wait for us in the future?

I agree with you. We had a reason at first, to get Sadaam, but now we have him. It's time to bring the troops home. Young men and women are dying for nothing. B/W, I'm 14 too, so my facts might not exactly correct either

You're right! Your facts aren't perfect. To you, the war may seem pointless, to me it is necessary.

Unless we want to see another 9/11 episode, or perhaps even worse, we better stay where we are and destroy this enemy. You see, my young friend, the enemy isn't Iraq or the Iraqi people whether they are Shiite, Kurd, Sunni, or Turkman. The enemy is Iran, and the dirty little people they send to Iraq with munitions and IED's, and insurgents, all for the purpose of killing American soldiers and keeping the civil war in Iraq at a fever's pitch.

Most of the problems in the middle east are caused by Iran. They feed money and arms to groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and terrorists who are willing to kill themselves for the purpose of killing people who don't agree with them. Hezbollah is trying to dismantle the Lebanon government. Hamas is trying to dismantle Fatah, because Fatah has been able to work with the Israeli government, for the good of the Palestinian people.

These problems will never end as long as Iran is allowed to keep the pot stirred in the middle east. In addition to all these problems Iran is in the process of making a nuclear device, which they would use to threaten Israel if allowed to finish this project. Iran must step down from a very aggressive position regarding its intentions. Until this happens, we must stay diligent, we must stay alert, we must stay warlike! If necessary, we must destroy Irans nuclear complex.

I don't agree. They are still trying to find Osama Bin Laden. He is the biggest threat now. I think it sucks all those people are dying. They can't leave Iraq because they would come back after us. Remember they DID start it. Now we have to finish it.

Well Penny we havn't finished pumping the oil wells dry yet. As soon as we do Mr Bush will bring all the troops home and get ready for the push into Syria and then Iran.

You are correct. But we are being told if we leave terrorists will follow us home (fear) and chaos will break out (and iraq isn't in chaos now?) They're just stalling while more troops die for massive war profits and oil profits!

I do agree with you. Iraq's security should be Iraq's problem, not America's. Otherwise, Iraq will turn into a Vietnam.

WMDs were there...it was the gas that Hussein used to kill all those people that were dumped into those huge mass graves.
Yes, we got Hussein. Now we need Bin Laden.
To "finish" the mission, we need to clean up the mess.
Would you want the exterminator to leave a mess after finding the rat?
Bush Sr. "failed" because the mission wasn't "completed". That's why we have so much negativity over there. Bush Jr. knows this and is trying to help them get on their feet before we completely pull out.
