Ease up Scorpio, at least learn the facts before you start pointing fingers! There are many civilian contractors in Iraq who have no guarantees from the Iraqi government or the US military that protection is guaranteed. In most cases theses contractors hire their own security force to protect their people while in country.

There is a regular cottage industry for this kind of work and it pays damned good, too. Most of these security contractors are former military folks who just haven't had enough, so they sign up as civilian security contractors. Unfortunately, some of these people get killed, too. It's hazardous duty, but someones got to do it!

What do you mean 'What type of corruption is this"?

The security forces are there as police officers, trying to get Iraquis trained as an independent police force to keep civil order.

The military cant do it their leaders never had the brains to place curfews on the towns they took and then disarm the whole civilian population. They are also unable to initiate training suitable for security for civilians.

Show me any war that americans have been involved in where they have improved the situation or not botched the whole bloody caboodle up through incompetence. Don't quote wwII as they didn't get involved till the Japs had a go at Pearl and that was well into the war. They were warned and were too bloody arrogant to believe anyone would have the gall to attack them. Did you know that US didn't have the technology for the Bombs they dropped on Japan? They had to get them from Australia, So maybe australia should be accorded for the doubtful honor of winning the war for the Americans

The private contractors feed our troops for one thing.
One other thing. The politicians and liberal media who go to Iraq are guarded/protected by civilian contractors because they don't trust our military to protect them. Smile. I can't imagine any military person who would put 110% into protecting John Kerry. Smile
Would you? Did you know the French make the MREs our soldiers eat?

This is an awesome question, if we cared about human life we would be in the Darfur! It is based on money, ignorance, and not knowing when to give up. If you remember on 9-11 when the president declared war on Iraq he got a standing ovation, it was because of ignorance we went in and because of money, and being to stubborn to give up that we are "stuck".
