I am wondering the amount of space alotted for sleep and personal storage area on a subamarine. Pictures would be helpful as well as H*L*W dimensions. What about footlocker space? Or mattress thickness?

Enlisted mens quarters only not officers.

Thanks

I feel guilty for living this fairly easy life over here in the states. What can we do as respectfull citizens to make this world a better place.I'm to old to join the military. Even if I could join I would'nt have the guts.

P.S. I'm not unpatriotic, I'm just afraid of going to war.

... so our almighty president has spoken.. has now outlined his so called " new " strategy for Iraq, has even taken, in a back handed manner some responsibiltity for the fiasco he has created... and in his great mind has decided that more than 20,000 more troops need to go to Iraq.
I have just one question.. Why should we beleive him.. why shoud we trust him... I for one do not. Bring our solderis home!

Support is pathetic for a war that is costing us billions of tax dollars. It directly defies the will of the people. I think I read somewhere in polls something like 60-70% of us are opposed to it. Can someone back me up?

I want to know the best but i might know what it is. I saw this one machine gun looking sniper rifle it wasn't totally silenced but wasn't loud either. I heard the bullet travels 7,000mph and the bullet is the largest in history it is a little more than half the length of your keyboard and it's width is similar to your computer speakers. So if anyone know's what gun i'm talking about tell me the name or just give me the name of the best sniper rifle in history that is still the best today and used or will be used.

today on jan. the 10th. i watched the "presidential speech" the main topic of it was if its a good idea for busg to send 20,000 US american soldiers to iraq. is this good? how will america react to this? Now in the paragraph below, is a caption of todays Live News from CNN...Not mine!!

President Bush acknowledged for the first time Wednesday that he erred by not ordering a military buildup in Iraq last year and said he was increasing U.S. troops by 21,500 to quell the country's near-anarchy. "Where mistakes have been made, the responsibility rests with me," Bush said.

IS THIS A GOOD IDEA OR WHAT? LOL. I WATCHED IT ON CNN, I DIDNT KNOW THAT THERE WAS A LIVE SPEECH.
AND I AM GLAD I WATCHED SOMETHING LIKE THIS. so any of you on yahoo answers, please give me an idea or your opinion to this. and clarify me of whats going on! i have no idea about politics. the only reason i watched it, because i love breaking news, and i enjoy seeing the president live on national TV.

I do not want anymore americans to die but i dont think that pulling out is an option. Will 20000 more troops only be cannon fodder? or will it make a difference? Some say Iraq needs to step up but looking at the situation from their eye view i can understand why they trust their local militias more than they do their government.

My only suggestion would be to do what the british did in India, literally divide the country in two or even three parts. This may help US troops identify who is fighting who and allow these two govts figure it out. In the Shi'ite area the us keeps a minimum number of troops while in the Sunni area the US keeps its majority of troops, as well as deploying British troops in those areas. This may cause a mass exodus between religious groups but may help stop some of the fighting long enough for the US to pull out and save face.

OK, we know when you signed that contract you did it out of love..

But what do you think about our leadership in this war? Do you think our occupation will eventually lead to any kind of peace between the Middle East and the West? Do you think anything needs to be changed about our policies (ie. should tortue be allowed, should we be putting more effort into afghanistan)?

Has your time in the middle east given you any new insight into the situation that youd like to share with the rest of us?

Sometimes they think of possibly bringing back the draft, and they talk about how they are low on troops. Could training inmates work? Like put on a tracking device so if they try to run, we can find them.

*my mom brought this up earlier tonight...and i was seeing if it could ever work*

Anyone near Baltimore or DC has heard the "O" during the National Anthem. Many troops I have talked to don't find it offensive, but they are from the area. I was wondering what is the opinion from troops outside the area?

Personally, I think it is a way to show regional pride. The O is emphasized after the line about the flag still being there after the battle, so isn't it good to be enthusiastic that the flag was still flying?

Anyways I am curious to other opinions, especially of those with military service.
