Well I personaly think that if no one enlists then our nation must think that we shouldn't be at war. Or even if we do, we don't want to be in it enough to enlist ourselves. And you could argue that SOME people still want to be there, but then again, a lot more than some people didn't want Bush to be president to begin with.

No, no, no. It would take a long time before that first draftee ever set foot in Iraq. By that time we will have a much smaller force on the ground. There will be no draft.

Just because no one you know is enlisting doesn't mean the miltiary can't find recruits. They are doing pretty well, especially considering that there is a war on. My National Guard unit has had no problem finding new recruits and about the only people leaving are those that are retiring. We've already been and are looking at going back again and we aren't too cowardly to go back.

In fact the military I doing very well in recruiting this year. There will never be a draft again anyway. If they were running low on troops, they would raise pay and benefits for them to sweeten the deal. Besides the legal costs would be crippling. You may be from the coasts or major urban areas. People from these areas typically do not join military services as much as midwesterners or small towners.

I doubt it, though all of the people who voted for Bush DESERVE to have a draft happen.

It's funny how so many conservatives claim that the soldiers chose to join the military. Yet, if there weren't enough troops in the military, there would a nationwide draft.

There won't be a draft.

And he's getting that many troops from those already in the military. He's just going to send soldiers that are here, to over there in Iraq. Not every soldier is in Iraq right now.

NO. THERE IS NOT GOING TO BE A DRAFT. Everyone just calm down. THERE IS NOT GOING TO BE A DRAFT. No one you know is joining, but the recruiting numbers for 2006 were above the original goal. The next time we see a draft will be World War III.

What ARE you talking about? The military's been meeting recruiting goals for a long time now, and even if they weren't the military stands a 5 million men strong. So there are plenty of troops, and NO draft in sight. It's a delusion from people who don't know what they're talking about.

Of course the draft will be reinstated. And hopefully it will mean that young women will finally have to serve our country as soldiers just like their male counterparts. Too many good women have already been killed overseas for this not to happen, it just would not be fair to their collective honor. I believe that there is a certain percentage of women who are willing to serve too. Only cowards and pacifists will be using the pregnancy ploy

The American people are already pissed off. He's already committed political suicide and doesn't even know it. As far as a national draft goes, no way. The people won't stand for it.
