Not his ego, his dads ego.

How quickly people forget what the initial reasons for invasion were, and despite being shown to be false, the war continues. Alot of the time people only hear what they want to be true.

Very much like Vietnam, but I think the ramifications will be felt by US citizens for much longer.

As for the claims that it's making the US a safer place, I seriously doubt it. Did killing 3000 people in NY make the middle east safer? Will the US be safer with 600,000 dead Iraqis? Time will tell. Good for your economy though. People spend more money when they're scared.

This is so different from Vietnam that it is hardly comparable. The President's ego has nothing to do with it. If it was about ego he could have pulled everybody home in 2003 and the troops could have paraded through Washington just like after Desert Storm.

It can be if you wish. Despite Johnson's bumbling, there were at least three or four opportunities to win in Vietnam, and after Vietnamisation the ARVN held out and did pretty well until Congress cut off funding and the South Vietnamese troops ran out of ammunition and air support. What a disgrace! Now the new Democratic leadership have another opportunity to sell out another group of people and another fine bunch of troops. We'll see. If they do, I'm switching parties.

All this Bush bashing is getting out of hand. It's petty and juvenile. If the war isn't going the way you think it should be then go over there and do your part to speed it along. Until then keep it to yourself. The rest of us are sick of it.
