Not everybody that is drafted goes to the war zone. I am not 100% sure, but I believe that during the Vietnam war, a man that had a child was usually sent to Germany to serve his duty. I don't know if that is correct, but I heard it somewhere.
There are other ways to avoid being drafted. Here are a few other than going to Canada and Mexico.
Currently the military is not taking homosexuals. You could say that you are gay and that might keep you out. Of course there are people trying to appeal the don't ask don't tell policy so homosexuals can openly serve in the military instead of serving while in the closet.
You can abuse drugs. It only takes a couple of times to be rejected due to drugs.
You can say that you are against killing another human beings with a weapon. This might keep you out of firing a weapon, but they may send you there in an administrative role or you might be sent there as a medic.
These are just a few that might keep you out, but if this war heats up really large they might take anybody that has a pulse and can see.
Your best bet would be if your were to get your draft notice, run down to the Navy recruiters office and join up that very same day. It would keep you off of the ground at least.

There will be no draft. Repeat after me - there will be no draft.
Don't be so afraid. You probably come closer to getting killed or seriously hurt in a car wreck most every week then you would have a chance at getting a scratch in Iraq. Some mortars came close to me in Mosul but quite frankly I've never been as terrorified as the half a dozen times or so that people have tried to kill me when I'm riding my motorcycle to work.

I wouldn't worry about it. The likelihood of a renewed draft is extremely remote...not until the Mexican government invites the Chinese to conduct maneuvers on our southern border.
Being a soldier these days is very demanding both mentally and physically. Most of our young people just couldn't do it. Almost 90% of the inner city youth are disqualified due to police records or drug history. Soldiers operate extremely complicated and expensive equipment these days and have to be able to read and write to pass the initial entry training. The sad fact is that many of our socially promoted youth are unable to meet the minimum standards necessary to be accepted in the military.

This post disturbs me. I serve my country, and if you don't want to...then don't. I'd rather not have to trust my life in combat to someone that doesn't believe in his country enough to defend it. Unfortunately, part of why we fight for is to defend the freedoms of ALL American's (even those with extremely unpatriotic and skewed views). I'll continue to stand with my brothers and sisters and defend our freedoms as American's; the freedoms of your families and loved ones. If you want to hide and don't feel that you have what it takes to pull your weight as an American citizen, then go right ahead, you'll have to look in the mirror every morning for the rest of your life and try to convince yourself that you made the right decision. When the time comes, will you tell your kids, your grandkids that you turned, or will you be too embarrased? Nobody likes war, but if we all just gave up and ran (see France), then you'd be listening to Soviet,German or Taliban broadcasts on your radio and TV every night, around the time of evening curfew. Get the point? Somebody has to do it, or we ALL lose the freedoms we hold dear...including the freedom of speech that is so very evident in this post. THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR AMERICANS TO QUIT! If you don't agree with the actions of the U.S., then move. I'm sure that the enemy could use more insurgents to fight us. Wow. God bless America,

The draft coming back is very unlikely. Today's army is very highly trained. It has to compose of those who actually want to learn this stuff. The US learned a very harsh lesson in Vietnam about forcing people to kill people. No worries, you won't be drafted.
FYI, the soldiers over there now and the soldiers facing deployment very soon are scared to.
To all you tough boys, enlist. Go over there and you'll see pretty damn quick all of this hero BS goes away faster than your Internet courage. I should drag your tails through a veteran word in a hospital and introduce you to a few of my friends. Then we'll see how tough you are.

What are you guys talking about? Who WANTS to go to war? Who WANTS to kill people? You people say all this stuff on the Internet...but what would you really think if somehow you got shipped off to Iraq the next day?
It's natural to be afraid of war...I for one prefer not be associated with this abomination you call "war". Does that make me a coward? Or would that mean I don't support my country?
Heh...

Just put a few pictures of yourself out on the Internet crossdressed. Show them to the Draft board. And what the hell. Soldiers are safer in Iraq than at home. More American soldiers die going to work in cars in non war zones than die in war in Iraq. That is a fact. I would feel safer being in Iraq as a soldier than commuting to work 30 minutes a day.

you need to forget eating sleep to play the game, the love of it will be contagious, other will love Hitman too
Idea go away as I do not think to make "idea reserve" bigger
I will post answer until I got tired or rest before each new answer?

something so easily believable can't be trust, violence is the will to liberate energy, I use violence because that's my habit. Now my habit is replaced by creativity

Everyone is afraid of going to war, but if it happens it is your duty to serve your country, think about all that it does for you, but if your really that scared you can go to Canada or Mexico, hopefully you would regret that decision the rest of your life. There are other ways to serve your country than fighting.

This is America, there are ways out of anything. The real question is whether it would be worth getting out of serving, financially, legally and also morally? Not knocking you for being afraid, any sane person would be. Remember, courage is not the absence of fear, merely doing what is needed despite the fear. don't know who said that, but they were a genius!
