He'll be sent home until his foot has healed. When he's medically cleared he'll either rejoin his unit or be transfered to another unit that is deploying. He'll most likely still need to complete his full deployment. There are exceptions, of course. But the type of injury that you're describing it doesn't sound like an exception will be in the works. Good Luck.

He'll come home for a bit. Chances are he'll be first in line for the next rotation over since he didn't complete his full tour. If you can, talk him into getting out. He's been given a chance at life when many others haven't. Take it as a sign. Get him out of the forces and keep him home. He's done his duty, he has nothing to prove to anyone.

Depends on how serious the injury is:
- he could get the "honorable discharge", this means he's out of the army.
- He is still in the army and they can call him back after the injury is healed.
- he got repositioned in office

Lucky for both of you, though.
good luck, and hope he's feeling better seeing you again.

Often times they will send him to a base in the states for rehab and if it extends past his tour date he will not go back. This is the ussual case though with the new strategy all bets may be off.
