I know this sounds bad but a draft could be a good thing in a way. If you get enough scared young people that are threatened by being drafted. Protesting will increase. That way, the malaise in America at stopping this madness will stop and people will set things right. Which is the point of democracy after all. If I was American and got drafted. I'd defect or go to jail. This is not anti American. But pro sanity, pro staying the frig alive because you only live once, and anti corrupt war. You won't go if you don't want to. Join up with people and protest if you really care. Take fear and turn it into action.

You don’t have anything to worry about. The small amount of troops Bush is sending over are already members of the US military. There is no draft and if there was you would have to be 18 and out of school.

Why the heck are you scared for? You're only going to be 16. and the draft isn't even in place. You're not even old enough to join the military with parent consent yet.
and if the draft were to be put into place....i have 3 brothers that are older than you are that would be taken before they would even think about taking 16 year olds.
and oh yeah...they may bump up my boyfriends deployment now because of this.

Nil, don't worry. To Bush, 21,500 men and women isn't that much. He's got lots more where that comes from. You're just a puppy, you're not going anywhere.

You're not in the military, so what are you worried about? There isn't going to be a draft. Military recruiters are doing quit well under the circumstances. There are still plenty of brave young men and women out there who want to wear the uniform and do something for this country.

None. The only conceivable way a draft would be re-instated would be through a catastrophic and direct military attack that required regional mobilization or a mass build-up.
A draft for service in Iraq won't happen, it's political suicide and poorly trained citizen armies would fare rather poorly in urban warfare with insurgents.

If you are talking about the draft being reinstated, then you probably have nothing to worry about because it is not likely that it is going to happen. But i just don't see why people are losing site of what this war is for, and they forget that america is the land of the free because of the brave

0% you register for the draft at 18. Besides there isn't going to be a draft that I have heard of.

well if you don't join your fine silly. unless the drafts comes which i doubt. But if you do find yourself in the Military do not go combat arms and I am not sure why your scared but trust me the media makes it far more worse than it really is. Not saying its not bad just its being embellished.
