I got out the navy two years ago as an Aviation Mechanic (AM3). i have been out here trying to get good job, however is hard and i barely can make it. i am considering comig back to the military. somebody told me to join the coast guard because their quality life is better. is that true?

My boyfriend is a Sergeant in charge of his unit's tactical headquarters, so he doesn't have to be out on the ground. When I do searches for things to put in care packages for deployed sildiers, I get a lot of stuff that is practical for those on mission, but not many for those behind the wire. Anyone been deployed behind the wire with any good suggestions?

I am writing a novel in which i need to research Naval Warfare so that i can modify it into effective space warfare. I'm looking for any link that directly discusses TACTICS, not just theory of battle. Anyone in the military, your insight would be much appreciated. Anyone outside, if you can find some decent links or know a little about the subject yourself i would be grateful.

Ten American soldiers were killed on Tuesday, the military announced today, bringing October’s death toll for United States forces to at least 68.
Four of the soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb west of Baghdad, and three others died in fighting in Diyala province, a troubled area northeast of the capital where sectarian violence has run high. A Marine was killed by insurgents in Anbar province, the western region where the Sunni insurgency is centered, and two soldiers were killed in Baghdad, one by insurgent gunfire and one by a roadside bomb. In addition to the American casualties, the Iraqi chief of intelligence for Maysan province in the south died along with four of his bodyguards when his car touched off a bomb planted on a highway.

Since we are having so many problems securing Baghdad, why not evacuate the city and then let people back in once the city is secure? I know it would be a huge undertaking but seems like it would be a way to save lives in the long run.

I'm a candidate for Air Force OTS and SUPT. I've already had my MEPS physical and now the next step is the flight physical. What exactly can I expect from this? What's different about a flight physical than a MEPS physical? (other than the fact that it's administered by an Air Force flight surgeon) I guess my specific question is, will they be sticking me inside a G-chamber to measure my breathing and heart rate?

I don't want twenty year old men and women sent into combat by people with NO PLAN!!
Asking a soldier to die is the ultimate sacrifice!
Sending them to die for false reasons is treason to me!!!!!

China says it fears hundreds of thousands of refugees from North Korea if the country struggles too much under strict sanctions. Give me a break! If the whole population of North Korea, 22,900,000 picked up and went to China, that would still be only 1.7% of China's population of 1,300,000,000. Given Canada allows a 1% immigration rate annually, why is such an influx to China such a big deal, under the circumstance. Canadian immigration is from 240,000 to 290,000 annually in a country of only 32,000,000. It would not surprise me at all if China is complicit in the help to North Korea to obtain nuclear weapons. China even implies it doesnt want to inspect goods properly entering N. Korea. Think about our freinds in China when you make a purchase at the mall!
