Well, I don't think their weapons are quite up to the "mass destruction" level yet. I don't believe that their nuclear weapons are powerful enough to make it across the ocean to us.
Yes, that is one of the reasons for the war on Iraq. Another reason for the war in Iraq is the fact that the country harbors terrorists. We did find over 500 WMDs in Iraq last June, but you probably didn't hear much about it because our media is very liberal, and they don't like to report anything that makes President Bush look good. Saddam said that he got rid of those weapons (the ones we found in June), but he was lying.
If North Korea decides to fire a nuclear weapon at us, their country will become a parking lot shortly after the attack. We have more nukes than they do, and ours are much more powerful. To strike us would be completely idiotic on their part.

No, we will not attack N.K. We are trying to use 'diplomatic means' which so far isnt doing too much. I mean, Iran is able to keep buying itself more time with ease. The U.N. is again proving itself useless. Its almost like they are working secretly with Iran and North Korea.
And maybe we should have a plan and attack both Iran and North Korea but we cant afford to right now. Too many countries or allies are not with us as strongly as they should be. That and the democrats think we should just give in to everything and shake hands with tyrants.
By the way, Iraq was dangerous, Saddam was dangerous and we dealt with him. He will never be in power again and will never have the ability to use nukes. Why? Because we took care of him before it got that far. There are reports that those WMDs were shipped off to Syria. If you think of Syria that isnt that far fetched.
And anyone who keeps saying this is about oil is a moron. We have not taken any oil from Iraq and that was never the reason we went in. Get over it.

The casus belli for NKorea would be vastly different from that for Iraq.
Please take the time to read up on the actual statements from the President regarding the case for war in Iraq - you should be able to find these quite easily, as they were presented to Congress and the UN, and were laid out numerous times in public speeches and even the SOTU.
WRT Iraq, the issue was not WMD per se, but the fact that in the Gulf War cease-fire agreement, Saddam had pledged to dismantle his WMD laboratories, destroy his WMD stockpiles, both finished product and ingredients, destroy his WMD delivery systems - bombs, artillery shells and missiles, thoroughly document it all, and allow UN inspectors to verify.
He did not do this, which meant that he invalidated the cease-fire agreements, thus opening the possiblity of the use of force to guarantee compliance, as the agreement called out.
NKorea does not have this type of history, and is not in violation of any treaty whose enforcement allows military action.
Let's try to stay away from over-simplistic views that obscure the facts, rather than illuminate them.

It is a very good reason. I, personally, hope that some of the neighboring countries take care of it. I am tired of us always having to take care of these things.
The rest of the world, with a few exceptions, sit there with their thumbs up their bu**s while things like this happen.
What about the human rights issues in N. Korea? Doesn't anyone care or is it just a case of "it doesn't affect me".....?

The U.S would be mighty stupid to wage war on North Korea. I don't think we will win that battle. If we wage war on North Korea, then China will get involved. Those people are raised to hate Americans. I don't think we want to go over there and start trying to be imperialistic. It will not work on them.

The stakes in N Korea are much much higher. If a full scale conflict broke out, the casualties would be in the millions and the escalation would be extremely rapid and uncontrollable.

do some research, and most of our involvements in wars have been just this shaky
some have been found out to be fraudulent, or non existing threat like the US search for WMD has been shut down in Dec 2004
and a new claim for Iran and Korea is ramping up
we havn't finished what we started, destroyed a country that did not threaten US and we are at it again
thanks, GW

Likely. But the U.S. should have support from N.K.'s neighbors, Japan, Russia, S. Korea, and China.
Btw,North Korea DOES have nuclear weapons

Get a clue little girl. We are not going to war with N.Korea until China decides that they will not back them for their blatant disregard of U.N. policy.
