I know they are just a small country, but do you think they pose a real threat to us? How much damage would it do?

Lets say they bomb the USA - Their only target reachable from N. Korea is Alaska - the western most point of it. Damage to life is minimal. Cleanup would definately be a problem, and alot of oil is underground in that area - oil prices would soar.

If they hit Australia, they can get a hit on a city center. Fortinuately it would be Darwin, and that place is a wasteland anyway. Also it has about 1% of the Australian population so it aint too bad.

If they nuked S. Korea or Japan, that would start an all out war. Japan has already stated it may have to consider aquiring WMD to protect itself, and whilst S.Korea has not yet stated anything like this, it has strong ties with the western world. If either of these nations were hit, the USA would be obligated to come to their defence.

So how much damage would a bomb the size they have do - its minimal. How scary are the repercussions to any form of attack from N.Korea? It would be the official start of WW3 and most probably the end of humanity.

North Korea is a small country but North Korea also possesses the world's fifth largest military and is the most militarized nation in proportion to population.

Kim Jong IL fears the U.S.. It's far more likely he would Nuke Japan,South Korea,or Australia .
It's reported anyway that North Korea would only be able to deliver a Nuke Maybe as far as Hawaii.

But rest assured if North Korea even attempted something of that magnitude, we would send a few ICBMS their way in retaliation and that would be the end of Kim Jong IL.

applying weapons of mass destruction is against international treaties. If the U. S. used a nuke for any reason, all hell could wreck loose. I heavily doubt/desire that no american politicians are heavily loopy sufficient to apply nukes everywhere.

They don't yet have the full capability to use a nuclear weapon against us, but that's not to say we should be concerned about their intentions. North Korea is an oppressive state with a dictator looking to spread fear.

if they did, their nuke could probably reach up to alaska and maybe hawaii...

but they can't be able to leave their country and we already have them surrounded. so invasion or getting on a ship and trying to nuke us is out of the question.

Yes, it will happen. Go to Oprah.com and look at the piece that Lisa Ling did about North Korea. It will definitely open your eyes.

Who is us? If you mean the entire world, it is unlikely- if you mean a particular country, yeah, probably. Its just a matter of which one the choose. Probably China if I had to guess.

It's very, very doubtful they would attempt to do that, however S.Korea or Japan could be in their sights. In either case, any attempt to do that would mean total annihilation of N.Korea.
