St Louis isn't too far. There is a nice zoo there. Also, the sporting events are close by. When I was at Scott AFB they allowed people with military ID in free at Busch Stadium. It was the first time I got to see a Major League baseball game. I took advantage of it a few times. I will never forget their generosity.
The Arch is pretty cool. There is a museum underneath it. And there is a tram that rides to the top. You can walk through the top and there are windows--if you're not afraid of heights.
And for adults there are several casinos. I think you are about 30-45 minutes away. Good luck and have fun.

There isn't a damn thing around Ft. Leonard Wood unless you can get to the Lake of the Ozarks. You might be able to see a movie or something.
