I am very nervouse about my fiance leaving for the marines. He leaves in less than two weeks. I am worried that once I go in about a year I will hate it and he will love it. I am pretty sure he will, but I don't know how to react. After 5 years of being together he finally talked me into letting him go. I am very nervous that once I go I won't want to be there and he won't be able to leave until his contract is up. I want to hear from wifes and marines who are married or were about they're or they're wifes feelings during the change. Please and thank you!

I am currently working on my BS in Nursing once I graduated I plan on going into the AirForce as an officer. Has anyone out there taken this route. I have always wanted to be in the military but the Af had restrictions on accepting single parents. Now as an officer things will be different. I enjoy the lifestyle and plus I beleive the benefits will be good for my family. I am currently enagaged to a man who is in the AF reserves ...we both think this will be a good idea. Anyone have any personal experience they can share?

Why aren't girls allowed?

I don't know what kind a guy would volunteer to go to a submarine knowing he will be stuck for a long time with pure guys. That is just wrong. I guess a submarine is a gay guys fantasy..lol
No disrespect to those guys, i'm just saying maybe some of'em are gay.

I wouldn't be scared of death. I wouldn't be scared of killing. I would be scared of being wounded and seeing others wounded.

According to secretary Rumsfeld, the American Legion has shown "spunk" while supporting the warring in the gulf region. Rumsfeld was very clever in his rallying effort when he stopped by the legion attempting to gather support for his war. Personally, and as a combat veteran from another unpopular war, he has stooped too low this time!

The American Legion is well known to have some last surviving members of WWII that are "staunchly" Republican and Redneck conservatives from the Christian Hell. Where else can Rumsfeld get such unanamous support for his Bush's war. Strategy: Show the public that ALL the veterans support the Iraq and Afgan wars.

May all the outspoken American Legion vets take up arms and run off to wars in support of their outspoken wars! Take off those brown boots from WWII and show me that you are not emasculated! Bush's "cannon fodder" young and old!

He was there for three years and Married a Japanese Woman they had a Son. He left them there because he knew his Family would not accept them, He was so lost without them that he drank too much and eventually he killed himself in a car accident. I would like to find them or at least his Son. It would make Our Family complete and I know that (now) they would be welcomed with much love. Can anyone tell me of any Military or public sites to find children of GI 's in other Countries?

This guy really irritates me. Point blank, I would like to see his carcass riddled with bullet holes. I do not want him brought back to the U.S. alive just so a whole bunch of people can talk about how misunderstood he is (John Walker Lindh). Although he may be able to provide us with some information, I really want to see him killed.

I went to New Orleans the other day on my way back from Texas and come to find out New Orleans was celebrating gay pride. I dont mind if people want to be gay or not to me that there business but there is one thing that really teed me off....

Walking down the street they have American flags hanging off the light post but instead of the stripes being red and white they were rainbow colors.

Does anyone else think this is disrecpectful to the flag. To me it disgusted me and was the same as if they were sitting there stomping on it....I think the American flag is something that should not be fooled around.
