My eyes arent the best. one eye is like 20/40 and the other is 20/70. Would I be required to wear those big bulky black glasses while in training? I know I could get by with most everything without them. Are they required if your eyesight is not the best? And contacts arent allowed.

I understand you have a 9 to 5 type of job in the air force. What are the chances of being deployed? How likely is that you would go to the middle east? As an airman, would you be deployed to do your specific job (engineering apprentice) or do you get deployed to be in combat? Concerned mom.

My son has just finished his 1st wk at Air Force BMT. He says he only gets 2 minutes to eat his meals. What's up with that? How can you eat enough in that time to have the energy for all the physical stuff. Just a mom worrying about her son.

My friend and I are in college and we want to join in the reserves for now. We are going to go to basic training thru the summer and do the split option-where you go to basic during the summer then school for the year then the AIT the following summer. After we get our bachelors degree can we go into officer training? or would we have to re-enlist? and if not would it be hard to get into that? Plus I want to hear some boot camp stories. I want to prepare myself. I already know what I need to do physically. But I also want to be mentally prepared.

i'm a seventeen year old girl, and i'm trying to decide if i should go to the air force after high school or just go to college. i'm pretty athletic, i run cross country, and i really want to do it. the one thing that makes me not want to do it is that i heard you can't wear contact lens and must wear glasses. but i just want to see other's people's opinion of the difficultly of basic training.

I know that my dad was in the 101st Airborne (Screaming Eagles) in Vietnam. He was infantry, but I forgot to ask him which brigade (?). Know any specific websites that I can look to for that info?? He is still alive, if that matters, but I don't want to call him just to ask him that! He rarely talks about 'nam anyway.
And for anyone who happens to answer me that has served our country...I Thank You ahead of time for your service!

When I graduate High School soon I want to enlist as 0351 in the marines..Im not worried about scoring higher than an 88 on GT and I can do more than 3 pull ups, 50 sit-ups in under a minute, and run a mile and a half in 12 minutes..

Are their any other Physical Requirments for entering?

And Iv been told that BT is 13 Weeks followed by 77 days of MOS Training..Is that correct?

And during these 24 weeks, Do you get any leave besides the 10 days after BT, or time to call home?..I know you get an hour a night, oppurtunal 2 hours a night on Saturday, and 4 on Sunday..But other than that their is no time to write letters or talk to loved ones..Right?

--Thanks for the help

once again i must remind you not to resort to name calling, harasment or gospeling. this is just to see what people would choose if they had the opportunity.

1. have you ever attempted to kill or seriously injure another human being: self-defence(emergency only) or other reasons?

2. if in exile would you prefer to hide in iran, colombia or south africa?

3. if someone (stranger) was leaving a bar drunk and driving, would you call the cops, offer him a ride or neither?

4. if running from the cops (murder 1 charges) would you leave town, leave the state or leave the country?

5. if a draft (for iraq) was put into affect but you had the choice to choose from, air force, navy, army or go "awoll" witch would you choose?

my answers:

1. i have and it was for "other" reasons.

2. i'd go to colombia.

3. offer the drunk a ride provided he's too drunk to try and rob me.

4. leave the country and come back in a year.

5. i'd go awoll, i don't believe in the iraq war.

how much would someone have to pay you to take another human beings life (a convicted murderer, or repeat sexual offender, that way you don't feel too guilty, lol) knowing there was absolutely no chance of being caught (you have the power to freeze time and become invisible long enough to commit the act and then escape leaving no evidence behind)???????????
