My husband retires in 5 years from the Army. I keep hearing from people when I say that.."Yeah...if they let him"!! Are you stuck with the Military even when you are scheduled to retire at 20 years? How is that possible? I am new to the Military lifestyle somewhat, and I am curious what people mean by this. Thanks!

I am currently in my second year of college. I am married to a Marine who is currently in Iraq. I am going to college to get my degree, and then I want to become a USMC Officer after I graduate college. My question is, when is the best time to try and start having a family with my husband? School is very important to me, and if I had a baby during school, then I would have to miss quite a bit. But at the same time, being an Officer in the Marine Corps is very important as well, and that would be hard to have a child during that time too. My husband is open to having a baby whenever, but having a baby is a big responsibility! Any ideas? Sorry if this question sounds a little odd... And if you bash me about this question, it won't do you any good, so just spare us both..

Are the governments of the UK and the USA supreme in morals ? What about those of Holland, Belgium, France, Norway, Sweden, South Africa and virtually every other nation on earth ? Both nations have funded terrorism. Both have had (or have) an empire. The governments of the USA and the UK are in violation of treaty after treaty, internationally. Is it any wonder that they are described as the true terrorist states of our times ?

He just got out of training in El Paso, we live in Northern CA, and there is no local base here (Travis AFB is 120 miles away). I've got the furniture and cars taken care of to get over there, but don't even know where to start when we get there in finding homes and getting the kids in school. The hubby is no help, as this is his first experience doing this too, and they gave us LESS THEN 2 weeks notice! And the website for Fort Shafter is no help...many links are dead! We don't even get a sponsor since we're going to be there in a week.

Just received this from my cousin. She said her office
has been doing it for a month.

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support
our troops used to be called the "silent majority." We
are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for
God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We
are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends,
simply want to recognize that the vast majority of
America supports our troops. Our idea of showing
solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and
respect starts this Friday -- and continues each and
every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a
deafening message that ... every red-blooded American
who supports our men and women afar, will wear
something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United
States on every Friday a sea of red much like a
home

Where ever the United States goes there are problems. The USA seems to be the bully of the world and we are not well liked throughout the whole world. The United States is at war on the average of "one war every 10 years". ( Give or take a few years here and there ) The world has had enough of the bulling and Iraq will go down in defeat just like Vietnam and Korea. The USA is headed for abject shame. What do you think?

Here in Michigan the Army and Marine Recruiters try and talk to the young people who are in college and most students won't give them the time of day. Why is that? The ones who do talk tell the recruiters "No Thanks" and walk away. The Recruiters then end up walking in black neighborhoods and poor white trash neighborhoods for recruites. Why the poor neighborhoods? Why not neighborhoods with million dollar homes?
