They have a complex way of scoring the ASVAB.

Have you ever played Everquest? Or any other role-playing games? If you have, you know that there are different points for attributes, and they determine what you'd be good at. That's how the military does it too.

I can tell you about the Army. If you are looking for 25B, Information Systems Operator/Analyst, which is the ultimate computer job, then what they are going to focus on is your ST (skilled technical) score. That is determined by a combination of your General Science (GS) score, the VE score, which is the sum of Word Knowledge & Paragraph Comprehension scores, Mathematics Knowledge (MK), and Mechanical Comprehension (MC). You need to have scored a 100 or higher on the ST score to qualify for this job.

Considering that this category has so many different scores, you probably still have a high enough ST score. If you have the paper showing the results, look at the bottom for a list of composite scores. You'll find the ST score down there. Again, if it's 100 or more, you qualify for the hardest computer job (6 months training) in the Army.

They're so hard up for bodies that I bet if you push the issue (i.e., don't sign up w/o a guarantee of the type of job you want), you'd win. Good luck!

They should of told you what jobs you were qualified for. Talk to your recruiter and he can tell you. You might even be able to study and take it again.
