Want to know that the Iranians are really saying? Go to www.irna.com and do some research. I was surprised to find a much more moderate climate in Iran than I expected. The IRNA(Islamic Republic News Agency) is Iran's official news source, and not intended to be a propaganda machine to the outside world. Remember, they may be an Islamic state, but they are a democracy, where the People have elected their officials. They are not in need of western "freedom" they have their own brand of that, and for the most part are a relatively modernistic and moderate populace.
Do not believe what you are being fed by this US Administration. Iran is not Iraq. Attacking Iran would be an absolute disaster. It would make Iraq look like a frickin garden party. The Iraqi's were poorly trained, unmotivated and ill-equipped. The Iranians are exactly the opposite.
The one nation that has anything to fear from Iran becoming a nuclear player is Israel. And that fear is built on a series of "what ifs?" Iran knows they have a very tenuous position in the world community, and at his stage of the game would not risk being cut off from the rest of the civilized world by supplying terrorists with the means to destroy Israel that was at all traceable to them. The larger threat is Syria being the intermediary for such a transaction. Covert monitoring, intelligence gathering and when needed, wet operations are the keys to making sure that does not happen. COVERT-it's easier to catch someone with their hand in the cookie jar, when they don't know you are SITTING IN the cookie jar.
Iran is a sovereign nation and have the right to develop what technology they wish, although I believe when considering the Nuclear issue, that the International Atomic Energy Agency need to take the lead in monitoring Iran's development to assure that it is for energy production only as they claim. Remember, one of our chief tenets in America is "innocent until proven guilty", we should try to abide by that, and be perceived as an honorable nation who practices what they preach.
It's time to engage the Iranians in open one-on-one dialoques and use diplomacy instead of the gun. When the events of 9/11 unfolded, Iran stood by our side, and even helped cut off the Taliban from any sort of retreat, as well as providing intelligence. Bush has squandered that good will and has made the situation almost un-salvageable.
America is the greatest nation on the planet and needs to start acting like it. We are the land of the free, and need to be a shining beacon to the rest of the world, not a hot headed, ignorant bully that lashes out at anyone that happens to disagree with us.

Iran will never hit us. Iran would be committing suicide if it did. I've heard this tired old red neck prattle before hit em before they hit us well the Russians never hit us the Vietnamese didn't run over Asia. No country will ever directly attack a nuclear armed nation. As for whats holding up bush it's simple he doesn't have the soldiers to fight Iran,Iraq and Afghanistan all at the same time. If you think you can bomb a country your soldiers are sitting next to without consequences your nutter than you sound. Then there is the oil issue if you hit Iran they can shut off there massive oilfields driving oil prices way through the roof. The Iranians could motivate jihadist in the region to levels not yet seen making our presence there impossible and force us to retreat.

Then why don't you start heading that way??? Why would we go after Iran??? They have no nuclear weapons. So with your way of thinking why not just go ahead and destroy the whole world??? Who knows, at some point we may have disagreements with everyone so why not get it over with??? There are alternative methods to dealing with issues other than resorting to a lot of people dying.

Who is "us"? Iran are no threat to anyone. They would never use a nuclear weapon even if they had one. Iraq weren't really a threat either the only reasonable argument was that the people were suffering under the rule of Saddam, the same can not be said for Iran, at least no more than many other countries.
The more wars you enter the more enemies you make, that is the thing that puts you in danger.

A basic geography lesson. Iran is the size of Alaska and has a mountainous landscape where you could hide a dozen small armies. It has three times the population of Iraq. It is not that Iran won't be invaded-it can't be, even if the politicians wanted to invade it.

Since you have such obvious strong feelings, I recommend you don't let others do your work and sign up for the military. Train in Arabic language adn then, you'll be sure to be on the front lines - no need for diplomacy, no need to search for other solutions. You go get 'em.

Go ahead! Do it, but as far as I'm concerned, you're on your own mate. Not with you or your President on this one - but then I wasn't with him on Afghanistan or Iraq. Just hate getting dragged into things that we Brits can't vote for! - Goes for Blair too.
