I often hear of men fraudulently claiming that they served in Vietnam. Even movie stars are guilty of this. Does the reverse ever happen?

Several do, many Vets came back from Vietnam jaded, and very upset with the United States government. Several of my uncles joined the army and served a couple of tours in Vietnam, but when they returned they joined anti-war movements, they were not drafted by the way. I have met many Vet's that do not want to admit that they served in Vietnam, because of all the horrible things that they saw there.

I know Vietnam veterans who don't tell people they were in Nam. They don't pretend to be draft dodgers, they just don't find any pride in admitting their role in Vietnam.

They won't pretend to be draft dodgers unless they can get some publicity out of it.

Many of us are not proud of what our country made us do. My current wife does not know I was even drafted.
