After bootcamp and your 10 days leave, you will report to school of infantry at either Pendleton, or Lejeune. It depends on where you went to boot camp. Did you go to San Diego, Or Parris Island? Anyways, SOI is a few months long. After SOI you will have a little graduation, (not as important as boot) and then you will go to your MOS school. My husband is Infantry, and he is an 0341 Mortarman, who is currently in Iraq. Usually when you sign up, you sign up for the MOS field of 0300. Which is Infantry. You won't get assigned an actual MOS until you go to SOI. Like, you will either get 0311, 0341, 0331, 0351, you get it... But good luck, and I wish you the best!

ITR is four to six weeks, as I recall. That should also take care of you MOS training since your goal is to be an infantryman. All Marines are 3500, basic infantryman. MOS training teaches and trains a Marine in his secondary job, whatever it may be. Many times, mos training is on the job. In other words, you learn from doing.

north carolina or california. possible other places but that is where it is at. Depends as you go thru combat training (0311) first the you go thru your secondary and tertiary schools. it all depends on which schools they send you to. different schools different lengths. talk to a recruiter, they will give you the info you need. Go in their with a clue or search it on the internet. Be a leader not a follower. you want to command your subordinates start now, come on. geeze
