When I graduate High School soon I want to enlist as 0351 in the marines..Im not worried about scoring higher than an 88 on GT and I can do more than 3 pull ups, 50 sit-ups in under a minute, and run a mile and a half in 12 minutes..

Are their any other Physical Requirments for entering?

And Iv been told that BT is 13 Weeks followed by 77 days of MOS Training..Is that correct?

And during these 24 weeks, Do you get any leave besides the 10 days after BT, or time to call home?..I know you get an hour a night, oppurtunal 2 hours a night on Saturday, and 4 on Sunday..But other than that their is no time to write letters or talk to loved ones..Right?

--Thanks for the help

Marine Corps Basic is 13 weeks long. Followed by 10 days of R&R for family, etc. Then, off to a 3 week course (i believe) of advanced infnatry training if u are not in the 03 MOS Class. After that, your MOS SChool could be as long as 1 month to a year.

run 1 mile and half in 12 minuted isn't good, u just barely pass. plus marine run 3 miles not 1 1/2 miles, how man push up? 50 sit up is till consider failed * 60to70 minumum.. marine is all about physical, i u do excellent well above average i mean 100+ push up sit up, than is much easier to advance. marine also require swim, minum third class, i do mean u can swim aleast a regular pool few lap, i think they let u to called home first thing u get to boot camp, and then alesat onece after that, ask u recreuite for information. i am no marine but navy,

Here is a great website:

usmilitary.about.com

There is sooo much information there that you won't know what to do with it all.

No, you don't get any leave durring boot. You will probably only get one phone call during boot, and yes you can write letters. After bootcamp, you will get your 10 days leave, and the report to School of Infantry. During SOI training, you get weekends off.

Good luck!

The one hour of free time and all that you mentioned is for boot camp, but you can't call home during boot camp. You can only write letters. After boot camp you will have more free time and will be able to call home often. I believe you even have weekends off at SOI but I dont know for sure.

I reccommend something like combat engineer instead of assaultman.
An assaultman doesnt have anything to do but fight, which means you are gonna get stuck with all kinds of stupid ****.
A combat engineer is almost the same thing, but you get to build things in peacetime, and blow them up in war. Some combat engineers are even special operations capable, so they end up helping special forces create structual analisis of buildings they want to blow up, or you just blow them up yourself.
Some combat engineers are armed with the .50cal rifle, in order to shoot IED's. Most people dont know this, but a .50 cal will blow a bomb into flaming chunks instead of set it off.
I strongly reccommend getting a mos where you will have things to keep you busy besides gruntwork.
