I am planning to join the Army right out of highschool when I graduate in a few years. My fear is that because I have a juvenile record (which by the way; the charges were dropped, and all I had to do was some community service & write a 5 page paper on "Why what I did was wrong") that the Army will not allow me to enlist. I need an answer because I haven't really thought about doing anything else in life that I would enjoy other than the Army for work right out of highschool.

A soldier goes into a house, shoot three people and rapes a woman. Republicans will excuse this how? How long until they blame America haters and the press? How long until they say that these things happen in war and if the media didn't undermine the war, then this wouldn't have happened?
I say this because they excused Abu Grhaib as "hazing," Haditha as "misunderstanding" the secret prisons in Europe as "vital" and so on. What happened to every person's life being equal? I'm ready for the, "terrorists don't think your life is valuable" answers. Because of course, to preserve our moral high ground and freedoms, we have to act like them.

I mean, it is clear that Bush is West Coast, which is fine by me, I mean I prefer East Coast, but hey, he is entitled to his own opinions and tastes, but they seem inconsitent lately, especially considering that he can't stand Colin Ferrel, but Is OK with Jude Law, I mean they are nearly the same, not totally unlike one another, especially considering that they both have accents, and its not like they make all that different type of movies, I mean after all did you see Alexander, what a crappy movie, and I can't believe Oliver Stone made that, cause he has made some good movies, like Platoon, and Wall Street, but I mean that movie sucked, oh yeh he also wrote the screen play for Scarface, which is oddly enough a favorite of both Tupac and Snoop, so clearly they have something in common, and I wonder if GW hates Scarface, cause then he would dislike something someone he likes likes. Confusing to say the least, but oh well.

People often ask what it feels like, of course I am happy to tell them what it's like. Imagine standing in front of your stove, turn it up to 130 degrees, now get inside of it, take your hair dryer and put it on full blast in your face. Don't forget to take a 500 watt light bulb and have it reflect off of sand colored surfaces into your eyes, no matter which diection you turn. For variety throw some talcum powder quality dust in your face. To complete the effect put on a 25 pound torso encompassing ceramic and syntehtic vest, add an 8 pound ceramic helmet, a T-shirt, long sleeve tunic, full length pants, wool socks and boots. Now imagine doing that everyday for 7 months, which is about the equivalent of the Iraqi summer. 130,000 men and women do it every single day, they don't do it for money, they don't do it for fame, they do it because they believe in something. They believe in an idea, an idea that America has a responsibility to do what we can to fight hatred, oppression and evil. We are a blessed nation to have so many give so much for so little in return. I am inspired everyday I am with them

I mean, they didn't enter the war until Summer 1941 after Pearl Harbour. War had already been raging in Europe since 1939, just about everywhere had been invaded, London had experienced the horrendous Blitz and the Battle of Britain had been fought and won. Germany was already on the defensive and then the US came to help just in time for the end. I'm grateful that they did, but why do so many of them say that they "saved our butts by kicking Hitler back to Germany" etc etc? Is it not possible to be a bit more gracious about it? Adademics (not just from the UK) widely believe that we would have won the war without them anyway as it was already on the turn and the german machine was becoming unsustainable.
Oh and for the record - all those war films the US produce are largely rubbish. Take U571 for example - look at the end to see the acknowledgment that the story is true but in fact it was a British ship, HMS Bulldog, that performed the heroics. As is the case in many others.
