It already happened. Bush's excuse for war in Iraq, weapons of mass destruction, never panned out. In almost every respect Iraq is Vietnam in a desert. A foreign opposing form of government, a dictator, misleading entry into the war, and continuous efforts to pull out. The only difference is oil. This war could be a lot more profitable then Vietnam.

Of course they already have used a similar incident when the did a pre-emptive strike on Iraq because they said Iraq had "weapons of mass destruction". Is it the same thing with Iran and nuclear weapons. Who knows? Didn't they move in on Granada, that huge militarized country in the Caribbean, on the pretext of protecting some U.S. students when they were really trying to stop the construction of a major airport on the island.

You are under the assumption that the event which triggered the "Gulf of Tonkin Resolution" never happened. You are only partially correct. Recheck your facts.
