I think that a lot are. A lot of people who would be willing to go would not be accepted because of age. My son just joined the Marines last year, and will be going on a ship to different places starting in the fall and he expects to spend some time both in Iraq and Afghanistan and my son is conservative. Two of my other sons also plan to join the military: one when he finishes college, so that he can be an officer, and the other when he finishes high school. I am scared for them, but also very proud.
A number of my Marine son's friends joined up at the same time he did and they all come from conservative families. A lot of people mistakenly think that only the poor join the military. This is not the case; the patriotic join!
Also, people who go to Iraq to fight are going more in support of our country than in support of Bush!

This is really a stupid question, sorry. I mean, if you support Bush on some things does this mean you are required to do the most extreme thing? Didn't all soldiers sign up freely and willingly in this country? Did they really think they could join the military and have zero chance of going to war, for whatever reason (remember Vietnam?) By the same token then, if I was a woman and voted for a democrat like Kerry, should I be required to have an abortion to support Kerry? Should I be required to sit around like a lazy but and collect food stamps then blame the government for my poverty? Should I be required to talk tuff about protecting my family (the country) only to then leave the doors unlocked and the windows up (cut the military)? Of course not, so get over it.

To answerman, by "repukes" do you mean republicans? Do you know who was president when america went to vietnam or korea? Hint: it was a democrat both times. Sorry, facts are stubborn things. Try to learn something instead of just typing out stupidity.

I don't consider myself a conservative by any means, but I think that everyone should have the opportunity to serve over here (I'm in Iraq now by the way). Weather you support Bush or not shouldn't matter, we need to support our troops because we don't have a choice to be here!
There are some really great things going on over here despite what the media shows on CNN all day.

I'll Go get Margaret Thatcher outta bed dude, think it's about time she did her bit!
Ha ha

Seriously I doubt they'll B climbing over 1 another 2 put their sometimes pointless lil lives on the Line.

" Why don't Presidents fight the wars, why do they always send the Poor "?
I have a cold-light-of-day answer 2 that.
Because there's a never ending supply of them in the USA.

Good God I didn't realize U Yanks take your Political Parties so seriously! Over here in the UK, the Tories R the Butt of most jokes, well roughly 47% take the Mick of the incompetent party of the Iron Lady.
Alex whatever his name even sent me hate mail.
What I can't figure out is what upset him more.
The fact that he's in the Military & NOT POOR.
Or that he's a Conservative?

Anyway I'm going 2 avoid Military Questions, U folks take the Jokes far 2 seriously & the Facts U think are a Joke.
U give me a Headache!

How many liberals would strap on a pair of combat boots to protect you?

Isn't it sad to know that the people who agree with your political views feel that you are not worth defending?

Have _you_ been to Iraq?

Funny that people think that just because no one's responding to this question it's because they don't agree with the idea. Maybe said conservatives are already in Iraq and away from their computers? I for one already own my combat boots and am ready to deploy, douchebag, what about you?

Me but not to supportBush...

to support you who chooses to have freedom without fighting..

you think freedom is free. hell most liberals think everything is free.. we need money for the low and middle income.. ohh give them all 50K a year and a new house.. its free...

ohh we need health care.. oh give it to everyone for free Doctors and pharma companies will work for free...

oh lets up the minimum wage to like $20 an hour.. who cares the small business owners are all millionares they can afford it...

When I was in the mairnes I fought for you pukes who were too liberal and too anti-military to fight.. you would rather smoke dope and ruin your mind at college, and spit on us when we got back... You thought we were brainwashed.. but guess what jack a ss You were the one brain washed.. thats why they gave you dope and acid.. to weaken your mind and give you communist propaganda...

So I don't ask you to strap on a pair of combat boots you puke, you would be crying in my fox hole and I would be force to put a bullet in yor head... and there will be no ACLU there to protect your sorry ***

Both of us, already retired, after each served 20+ in the Air Force! AND, we offered to pull on our boots, one more time...

But, military folks don't leave their succesful businesses, happy and growing families, warm homes, to 'support Bush'!

We go because folks like YOU like to jabber about liberal ideals and fantasies, and we cherish the FREEDOM to debate you in the public forum! When are YOU leaving?

You are USING those FREEDOMS, so, WHEN did you expect you'd have to PAY FOR THEM?

Ask Cheney or Rumsfeld if they'll go. Better to be hurt, or worse, when you are older and have loved the good life rather than when you're young and not lived much yet. And add to that members of the Christian Right if they are willing to fight for God and country.

They already are...

We (conservatives) have the soldiers in our corner, and the liberals have the trial lawyers.
