Can i be a 10th Mountain Soldier and be a vehicle mechanic?

10th Mountain division... as in Ft Drum???? I'm sure you can if they give you a garantee to station you there after AIT... but those don't always hold up! They usually find a reason to put you where they need you even if its not where they told you you would be. The standard is 4 years... you can re enlist if you really like it. ( hope you don't have a family, thats the worst place to raise a family... housing issues... hope they fixed it)

There are no track vehicles at Drum. There is a Stryker Brigade in Ft. Polk, LA. thats about as close to a track as your gonna get. Drum is mostly Light, meaning we walk everywhere because we have no heavy vehicles i.e. tanks and brads. Try Ft. Hood, TX or even Germany.
