Law Enforcement & Police - November 2007

It is not uncommon for an arsonist to be a fire fighter. So wouldn't this same concept apply to law enforcement? Why would do so many find it difficult to believe that member of Law Enforcement would be a criminal? My point is some arsonists are fire fighters because they are obsessed with fire so why wouldn't power-crazed individuals pick a profession of authority?

My ex husband two year ago was involve in an accident. He bought a truck from his former boss, and did not register the truck under his name, but truck still had insurance under boss name. Well it was my husband fault when he hit another vehicle behind. Witnesses call cops to the scene, but car that was hit left the scene.Cop got there and ask my husband questions and he told him it was his fault, but the car left the scene. My husband did not get license plate, because he was nervous.Cop got mad and said that he could'nt do nonthing because the other left the scene. So he let my husband go, and no ticket. After that my husband sold the truck and sign the paper to another person. Well my question is after two year a private investigator is coming to my house to talk to him.He does not live with me,but receives his mail there. private investigator says he was hired by my husband former boss and that my husband is not trouble, but wants to know what happened that day. What would happend?

I don't want to sound like a some perv.but my sister and i were wondering if cops ever get "turned on" while on duty. I mean, they seem all serious and concentrated on their job that it seems like they (as my sister put it) "are not human." ......just curious!

I was pulled over this week for rolling through a stop sign. The officer asked me and my 2 friends to step out of the car. I shut my car door and stood in front of it. He asked to search the car and I said " I do NOT consent" The officer took no notice to my words and forcefully searched my car. WHAT DO I DO?

I just realized today that my driver's license expired 2 days ago on my birthday. I paid my license renewal fee by mail about 2 weeks ago. Do I have to go to the secretary of state and get a new license or will they send one in the mail, and can I still drive until they do so?

What would happen if I get pulled over? Will it show up in the system that it has been renewed or will I be arrested for diving with an expired license?

I recieved a stupid $20 parking ticket on Oct 30 2006 at 3:10am for parking on a sidewalk to my house. (Other cars were blocking driveway).

Again, the same day, Oct 30th--- But this year---I parked in the wrong spot---a handi-cap space since the City of Perris had blocked off the entire parking lot of the public library. This ticket is $275.00
I contested BOTH and LOST both.

So, who in the world gets this money? Does the police get a 30% cut of this ticket? Do police have an issue with October 30th? Does the city (of where the violation occured) recieve ALL of the money? I

If police are so set on getting a nice big bonus, why don't they work harder at getting speed demons, car jacker, rapist and murderers?

...individual officers, that is? The police said he jumped over the barrier, but paid for his ticket with a credit card and walked through. He was also accused of running away from them...he didn't. They claimed to have shouted warnings when they didn't.
It made me realise the police, like your normal Joe Bloggs will tell all sorts of lies, realising the truth in this particular case would finish them off.
Could be the reason why he was shot so many times was to make sure he would never 'awaken' to indeed tell the truth?

Okay lets say someone steals someone TV. The cop catches him and the person that he stole the TV from does not want to press charges. Does he still go to jail for robbery or is it dropped because the owner of the TV does not want to press charges?

Recently, my son was caught smoking marijauna on school grounds and of course the school took action. We were called in; my son, myself, and my husband with the principal to discuss appropriate disciplinary actions. My son was told to leave the room and the principal, my husband, and i were in there private to discuss my son's fate.

My husband did not take this seriously from the beginning. He feels that marijauna is not a serious issue and feels that myself and the school are going overboard. At the meeting when the principal was discussing counseling and suspension, my husband said "counseling, what the hell is counseling gonna do, we'll pay that fine or whatever legal action comes our way and let it be." The principal is pretty much struck at my husband's "free" feeling towards this and he really brought me to shame in that office. Of course my son and husband are making me look like the bad guy and I don't know what to do about them. Am i in the wrong here?

If I were to be pulled over, and the officer said I was doing 54 in a 45 zone (but really was doing 45). Are you allowed to ask for proof of that?

When you have a vehicle accident where no one is hurt and both vehicles are driveable can you write up a report without giving the at-fault driver a ticket? I work for an insurance company and I take accident claims over the phone and I had a caller today who was at the scene and the police officer (Washington D.C. PD) told the caller that he would have to give her a ticket if he did a report. I was just wondering. Thanks!
