I recieved a stupid $20 parking ticket on Oct 30 2006 at 3:10am for parking on a sidewalk to my house. (Other cars were blocking driveway).

Again, the same day, Oct 30th--- But this year---I parked in the wrong spot---a handi-cap space since the City of Perris had blocked off the entire parking lot of the public library. This ticket is $275.00
I contested BOTH and LOST both.

So, who in the world gets this money? Does the police get a 30% cut of this ticket? Do police have an issue with October 30th? Does the city (of where the violation occured) recieve ALL of the money? I

If police are so set on getting a nice big bonus, why don't they work harder at getting speed demons, car jacker, rapist and murderers?

May I add that yesterday was Thansgiving Day and my mom and I spent our 4th Thanksgiving without her husband and my dad. Some people just need to remember 1. This IS Yahoo! Answers and 2. some people may NOT know something as simple as my question above and 3. Parents do NOT live forever. I miss my dad and I would do anything to have him back.

Where I live, the majority of it goes towards the city parks fund, the DOT & (believe it or not) the Christmas lights uptown.

I'm sorry to hear of yor father's passing & please don't let these rude people get to you.

You're really childish. I guess you should probably be doing your homework, or making change at GOOBERS BURGER JOINT but I'll indulge you princess. The city collects this money, it's considered revenue. The police department is not receiving a bonus. Your inability to read or follow local parking law is not the fault of your local P.D. Grow up and take responsibility for yourself princess. When you see Daddy and Mommy next, scold them for allowing you to grow up and be so self centered. They have done you no favor.

I'm sorry for your loss, but what the hell does that have to do with anything? I stand by what I said there Scooter. You're a self-centerd jerk who crys in public about a little parking ticket. Pay it and move on with your life.

32 years old and still a baby. You must be proud. The country's at war, young men and women are dying a heros death, and you're lamenting a parking ticket in public. Shame on you little girl.

89% of it goes to the city. The onther 11% goes to the court costs and district attorneys office. Most cities allow you to pay online.
