I am writing an essay regarding juvenile gangs. I was wondering if someone can help point me in the right direction or elaborate on theses topics relating to gangs:

• Corrections and detention (How does these departments prevent, intervene, and suppress gangs)
• Juvenile courts (Like what the courts do with gang offenders)
• Prevention programs
• Guiding principles
• Treatment strategies

I also wanted to know what risk factors and reasons do gangs form?

An offeror makes a mistake on the bid. The Contracting Officer allows the offeror to correct the mistake because the bid is responsive to the solicitation. The changes made by the offeror affects the delivery time.

I am a 32 yr old guy, with no criminal record, and physically very fit...I just wanted to know, what is the best or easiest way to become a police officer in my local town or a bordering town in my nieghborhood, which is in the suburbs of Chicago.

I have a 4 yr BA, but was wondering, if I have to do a police academy? and is this something that the police department itself sends me too, or do I have to do this on my own...My goal here is to one day make it to detective or undercover level status.

I was a victim to police mistreatment in the los angeles sheriff department. I am a 54 year old mother of ll who was detained in the jail after protecting my son in a gang merlee. while in the custody of the twin tower county jail I witness an inmate getting beat and signed a inmate complaint form against the officer, that night our housing pod was raided and being older person in the pod, I was used as a example. I was pulled from my bed while lying in A PRONE position in bed and assaulted. I was taken out of the unit and took to an isolated areas where I was chained to a backless stool and had a bag thrown over my head. I was taunted for 4 hours by the sheriff officers. the incident offended the standard of decency. I was denied my due process of a hearing, an investigation in to the hearing but was later charge with false chargers and put into lockup for 30 days. I have now taken my case to c ourt and it is pending the district court. Help stop this mistreatment. Help me stop this

but how often are people really sentenced to at least a year for a misdemeanor? It's probably rare and if they are sentenced they probably get 6 months at the most right?

Does it fall under punishment or other legal division?
Is torture ethical or unethical?
For example, someone holds the key to an answer and he's not speaking up but if "you" think the only way he will speak is through torturing him.
Or if someone touches your child and you know he deserves a harsh punishment, is torture in that case ethical?
Please share your ideas. Thanks.

The officer said that I had to scan my fingerprints into the computer and send it to the state capital to check if I had any warrants out and if my identity was legit. Did the officer lie and just scan my fingerprints into the system for future reference or is that usually done? Will my prints stay in that computer? This was in NY.

I remember seeing a documentry where a gentleman was unable to be a police officer because he was to smart. He tested to high on his IQ test. The documentry showed the test and spoke with the office that created it. I have tried to find information to see if this is true but can't find any. It seems like we would want the smartest people we could find for what I consider probably the hardest job there is.

So can anyone give me any info, or where to find it about how police officers are tested and wether or not they can be "to smart" for the job?

I was reading on a website that was saying that when Police use their radar for speeding cars the radar will hit the lisence plate and bounce back to tell them their speed.
Is this true? It kinda makes sence but I was just woundering.

As sad as the death of anybody is .....I don't agree with all the fuss that goes on when a police officer dies. Parades, thousands of others police officers/people shedding tears for somebody they didn't even know. It's ridiculous to me . What do you think ??

them to leave? I am not allowed to own a firearm, so I won't be armed. I am on probation, so I would be hesitant about hitting them. I don't want to violate my probation.

What do I do? For instance, if they will not leave...what do I do?

Are you as FED UP as I am about hearing about stupid yobs in the news every day? After seeing yet more crimes committed by these senseless morons on the news last night, I just felt so angry and depressed. Why the hell doesn't the government do something about these pea-brained morons? Why don't judges hand out tougher sentences? Why don't all the decent people march down to Downing St and demand TOUGHER punishments for these scum?

If a man can't get out of his car with his young son without being set upon by a gang of violent thugs - yards from his home - then something has gone seriously wrong with this society.

The problem of yobs needs to be addressed, and addressed NOW! Fifty lashes of the birch would do it!

A few stories have filtered down from Canada about RCMP and local police using stun guns to kill or seriously injure unruly citizens. One case out of BC involved the death of a well-qualified Polish man who was visiting his mother and intended to work in Canada. Because of delays at Customs and a language problem, he apparently became angry and confused, resulting in an embarrassing international incident, with the government of Poland demanding an explanation for this excessive use of force. Since the United States is even a larger police state, there must be lots of similar occurrences here, right?
