I dont think this type of prevanative measure could possibly work, mabey they could buy back the guns. I am queasy at the thought of home invasion with or without permission of the resident.

No, because it is an absolutely worthless waste of time. They are supposedly looking for guns that would/could be used in crimes; but ARE NOT looking for guns that HAVE BEEN used in a crime. So unless you are the worlds stupidest criminal, and allow the fuzz to search for your murder weapon; you will still have a murder weapon. It is just a feel good, liberal, idiot attempt to act as if they are stopping crime in the ghetto. I will bet that they will not find any guns unless they are paying for guns.

It's a city-ordained thing to go after illegal guns in the posession of minors. It's to try to end the senseless killing of innocent children.

No. Doesn't send chills down my spine. They're not just going door -to - door and taking guns. If it's a gun, owned by an adult with a permit, then the adult gets to keep his/her gun.

Sounds like a good program to me.

And, as mentioned above me, they only go into the house if the parent allows them in.

No. They are looking for guns that might be used (unknown to the parents) for violence. The searches are voluntary and can be stopped at anytime (even if permission was already granted).
