Juvenile Gang Questions?

I am writing an essay regarding juvenile gangs. I was wondering if someone can help point me in the right direction or elaborate on theses topics relating to gangs:

• Corrections and detention (How does these departments prevent, intervene, and suppress gangs)
• Juvenile courts (Like what the courts do with gang offenders)
• Prevention programs
• Guiding principles
• Treatment strategies

I also wanted to know what risk factors and reasons do gangs form?

If it helps you, you could see what high schools do to prevent this. They start with small preventions, like forbidding students from wearing clothing with gang related logos, red blue or black bandanas, or dominant colours if determined to be gang related. For instance, people can't wear more than two items of the same colour. And on our school campus, the cops are always around, just hanging out there. and of course, there's the infamous juvie.
