Seriously!!! when I tried to apply for a sears card and I put my personal information in the machine you use a pen with and someone elses name pops up! serious help or advice plz!!!!!. I'm really worried. Recently I lost my wallet too. and was lucky enough to get it back with everything inside including my indentity.

Is there a way to track it. Personally it has a lot to do with Gap letter I got about the thier laptop stolen!!

Contact the three credit bureaus: Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. Each of them allow you to check your credit free once per year. You need to notify them of any inconsistencies or incorrect information. If your identity has been stolen, they can flag your account. You can make a report at your local police station, but good luck getting a conviction unless you have a suspect already or the suspect leaves a paper trail that can be followed.

contact the police and credit card companies. If I was in your place, I would be equally worried. It is serious.

I would call all the companys you have cards with and tell them that your wallet was stolen and they can issue you new cards.

take information you have to the police ... identity theft is a crime

alas, police have all too much experience with it these days
