You need to check with your local police department. They will be familiar with both the state law, and any local ordinances.

I would suggest the following to anyone who sells a gun:

Even if you are allowed to sell without a license, I would strongly recommend having the buyer sign a dated receipt. The receipt should contain the make, model, and serial number of the gun.

That way, if the gun is used in a crime, you can show you no longer owned it at the time.

Good advice here (read above). I would call the ATF or your local police department and ask them. If possible get a response in writing. When you sell the firearm to another person in a private sale I would 1. record the sale with a receipt. 2. Get a copy of their driver licence and another ID. 3 Check their license against the Florida driver license database. 4. take payment in a check which you will cash prior to handing over the firearm or a credit card. 5. Arrange to meet at a gun dealer to hand it over. If the firearm is used in a crime, law enforement could (and probably will) come knocking on your door. Better to have too much information rather than too little. If in any doubt sell through a Federally Licensed dealer and pay them a fee.
Your question looks like it's in two parts. To sell firearms in Florida - other than a private sale - you will need a Federal Firearms License. I would direct you to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms for info.

Check with the Attorney Generals Office of your state.
You might be able to get the info from their website if they have one.
The laws have been changed so much lately and the individual states are changing their laws just as fast.
If what I have been reading on the internet is true, you might not want to get rid of your gun.
