i just asked a question about whether firearms like handguns should be banned or not. i got some answers, and now i have some new questions.

1. the right to bear arms: 2000 and 1700 are two different time periods, why do people still believe "with guns we the people can stand up to the government" cr%p?

2. many of the answers say "guns protect people, if someone broke into ur house or rubbs u on the street, with a gun u can protect urself." my question is: first, isn't there a law stating u can use a gun to defend urself only if the other person has opened fire first? also, how can guns protect u in public places such as schools? lets vote, how many people has carried a gun to school? any school!

3. one of the answer talked about history. may i ask, does anyone know the difference between history and reality?

oh, by the way, Japan didn't invade US in WWII not because american citizens have guns, but because Japan was busy invading China and Southern Asia.

I appreciate the hard work of law enforcement and recognize their sacrifices. This section seems to have a lot of people who jump on those who complain about law enforcement. I know from personal experience that law enforcement agents are capable of making mistakes and even outright abusing their authority. Where this conduct really irks me its that it is counter productive to the purpose of having law enforcement. Unprofessional and or abusive law enforcement agents not only threatens the safety of the citizens in their respective jurisdictions but it also endanger law enforcement by building mistrust and resentment. No good will come of this.

So for those who believe that people who complain about law enforcement are just whiners and even criminals I have to ask what you make of this story below?

because the main goal for the murderer was to kill the victim, and whether the victim survived or not has nothing to do with the murderer.....yet in most cases which the victim survives, the criminal gets lighter sentences than when compared to if the victim dies.........

do you agree or disagree? and why?

thank you

Let me give you the rundown. A couple months ago I was pulled over 16 hours away from home for driving 15 miles over the speed limit in a construction zone. The minimum fine is about 400.00 and I was told that a court appearance is mandatory, since I was in a construction zone and the fine may increase per judgment of the court. I am due in court next week and there is no way in hell I can make it. Any idea what the repercussions of my absence might be? Any possibility of extradition? Will my fines be increased? Any info would be appreciated.

ok, they arrested my father after my 911 call on sept 22nd . Today it's october 10th .
[ what happened ? My father came after me with a knife , tried to threaten me like the way he has been since my memory serves . I didn't go along with his abusive , violent nature . So now i am isolated from the family ]

My father and mother went to see a lawyer already . I am worried if i am late to call up a lawyer and do the "legal stuff " so called ?

I was laid back for a week . I am starting my new job tomorrow . What should i do ? By the way are lawyers free .who I can call ? Will the police department have information on lawyers and stuff ?

If you are walking in a neighborhood late at night (no curfew) and the police stop you. They say 'there is a lot of vandalism occuring lately' and ask for your i.d. and begin to pat you down and tell you to pull out everything in your pockets without consent. Is that breaking the 4th amendment? and if they find anything(drugs), would it be admissable in court/ could you get the charges dropped?

PO: we, army guys, had a 17 year old running through the barracks (that's legal in NY).
PO: she knew everything she learned from porn and from her dad. Her dad's in jail for getting her pregnant.
PO: anyway if you wanted to get her in bed you just punched her lightly in the arm and it was game on.
ME: is that what you all did?
PO: yep.
PO: Alot of freaky **** going down there, all cops and co's.

ect, and more of the same for 30 pages, really awful.

So i have a cousin, who lived in California for a while. He was a 4.0 student and was given scholarships to numerous schools. However; he instead turned to a life of crime. He started with trying every drug. Then he sold drugs and buried them in his parents back yard. Then he drank whole bottles of liquor in the bathroom of stores, then he stole credit cards, then he stole cars. Finally after he was given to many "breaks" he moved with his parents to Mississippi, where they had a mansion. For some reason he decided it was a good idea to douse the place in gasoline and burn in to the ground. Now he is in a Mississippi prison and was given 10 years. I heard however that he was getting out much earlier then usual, early next year. He has only been there for about a year and a half. My question is why is our justice system like this, why do they give you scary sentences with no backbone whatsoever. and what should i do about this cousin in the future,i know he is the type to make plans.

1. CHP officer is a rookie only on the force 2.5 yrs.
2. I requested a breathalyzer; reference: California Vehicle code 23612. = I have a choice.
3. I was taken to hospital due to my medical condition which was bogus. Also I was waiting to take my breath test for 1 hour prior to transportation to the hospital.
4. Police are not doctors and can't determine if a person needs medical treatment if they are coherent and speaking complete sentences.
5. I was never given a chance to prove to the officers that I could perform the Breathalyzer normally. If they gave me a chance to take the Breathalyzer as it is in police protocol and I failed by fudging or by not being able to take the test, Then they should and could take me to the hospital and take my blood under my consent or without it.

6.I was never given that chance which deems that I was medically able to take the Breathalyzer.

7. This means that the blood draw which I didn't refuse would be an "illegal blood draw".
