With all of the Police bashing, complaining, alleged misuse of authority, and brutality, I'm curious to see what it would take to please some of the Police bashers out there.....be REALISTIC.

Don C....good idea, but I think placing citizens on a review board to review police policy and procedures is similar to creating a citizen review board for NASA policy and procedure.....the reason I say this? in majority of cases that I look at with alleged misuse of force, where there is a public outcry against the Police, whereas I see no wrongdoing with the Officer....its difficult for people to understand because they aren't trained and they don't deal with those types of situations regularly....

It should become law that the police can shoot people who run away or start a chase/pursuit. There are too many "Oh boo-hoo the cops were mean to me and all I did was run, fight, and resist arrest."
This would solve most problems (but not all). That way, it is you run you get shot--no bs or questions later on.
If there are clear defined methods, then there can't be an outcry such as "I was mistreated for breaking the law because I'm white/black/hispanic."
I know that there are some crooked smart *** cops also. However, it becomes harder to weed the bad ones out when people focus every law enforcement case on what the police did wrong even though the case exists because a citizen (or illegal these days) broke the law in the first place.
To be a cop is to have every action criticized when you don't have time to think before you react in certain extreme circumstances.

Let's hold that ARROGANT, IGNORANT legal community to the higher standard that they claim they live by. When you know the law as they are said to then when they break that law they should be sent away to the pen for a double or even triple the sentence for John Q. Public. Isn't it funny that when they are caught they start crying about how many people they sent to the pen. Prison would make them think before they RUINED a persons life. And with 1% of the prison population being truly innocent there is no way we can allow this to continue. Let's lock up the real criminal element in the world. They are easy to spot since they have a firearm and a badge!!!!!!

Increased transparency between the citizens and police practices.
An end to "F***ing you with the pen," making up allegations in order to falsely represent probable cause: honesty (just as police appreciate when they ask a suspect a question).
Less deception when investigating suspects.
A more understanding, fair and respectful drug enforcement policy.
Consistent application of policies and procedures, regardless of the race, occupation, or connectedness of the suspect--for an example of this, check the link below to some cops trying to get a D.A. out of his car.

the only one i'm uncertain approximately is #a million. something would nicely be easily shown with the wild frenzy over international warming or in politics. Making it worse is our tutorial gadget no longer teaches or perhaps encourages extreme thinking ensuing in a ways much less logical concept and lots greater knee jerk reaction. regulation enforcement would desire to be knowledgeable to look previous that to three degree yet each individual is project to their very own biases and reviews.

I think the police should be given a lot more lead way to do their jobs. Let them go into houses for s/s with no search warrant but they have to have good reason for doing it when they get to court. They are restricted in so many ways. It is hard for them to do their jobs.I think the main problem is in the court rooms.

Well, the first change I would like to see is how youths are determined for trial as adults (age). The next thing over all would be that the criminal justice system would allow for programming in order to be more PROactive instead of REactive.

INTERESTING QUESTION.
WE ALREADY HAVE REVIEW BOARDS WHO GIVE YOU ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE TIME (FIRED TILL INVESTIGATION IS OVER)
THE BOARDS ARE ALREADY MADE UP OF CITIZENS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE, EVEN A MINISTER, PSYCHOLOGIST, DEPT HEAD, ASSIST, MAYORS ASST, (BLACK MALE OR FEMALE, WHITE MALE OR FEMALE FROM INSIDE YOUR RANK OF THE DEPT. IE IF YOU ARE A SGT MALE FEMALE SGT ETC. TO REVIEW YOUR ACTIONS, ATTORNEY FOR DEFENSE AND DEPT ATTORNEY AND PROSECUTOR.??
BEING FROM INSIDE LOOKING OUT 42 YEARS I CAN UNDERSTAND MOST OF THE BASHERS, THEY ARE THE ONE WHO HAVE NOTHING GOOD TO SAY AT EVER QUESTION OR ANSWER THEY PROPOSE.
I WAS IN THE ARMY DURING VIETNAM AND AM A CHILD KILLER ACCORDINGLY WITH TOM HADEN AND JANE FONDA AND THE SDS--SO WHAT WORDS CAN YOU HURT ME WITH. MY WHO LIFE HAS BEEN FOR MY COUNTRY AND CITY AND BEEN BASHED SINCE 1965 WHEN I GRADUATED H/S. IN TIME MOST OF YOU BASHERS WILL NEED HELP FROM AN OFFICER, OR A FRIEND WILL BECOME ONE, THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO RETHINK YOUR POSTULATION ABOUT LIFE AND REALITY IN THE FAST LANES.

They won't be pleased because they don't see reality. They want police to ask people politely to stop shooting other people and put down the gun, then slap them on the wrist and say "That's not nice, how would you feel if someone did that to you"? And then give them a ride to their house and tuck them into bed.

I think police should be able to shoot at runaway cars who are running red lights and blatantly endangering people. They should to it from helicopters with sniper AR's. That would cut way down on runaway drivers! One time and the phenom would be over!!!
